I need to quit. But after 3 failed attempts, I don't know. I think the biggest problem is I still enjoy it. Plus, work stress and I'm in the process of buying a house. I've always read that it has to be the right time for you to quit. Did you guys find this, or could you all just stop?
I couldn't. Tried cold-turkey on numerous occasions, never lasted long(and no, fellow quitters, telling people who're having a hard time with it that it's really dead easy to just quit and they just have to "tough it out" is not helpful, it comes across as condescending whether it's meant that way or not). Tried gum, patches etc, total rubbish.
I started using a vapouriser at the end of last year, only had one cig since during the summer - like Aesop I actually still like the smell of tobacco so I lapsed and bummed one off a mate, it was bloody vile, they never made me feel sick when I smoked regularly even if I chainsmoked, but I actually had to struggle not to throw up. Can't recommend vapourisers enough, I wouldn't have stopped without them, and they're filthy cheap if you buy a proper one(not the shady cigarette-shaped ones they sell in corner shops) and get the juice online(I recommend a Kanger mini-Protank 2 and an eGo twist 1000mAh battery, and get a strong-flavoured juice to start with like triple-menthol as that helps replicate the "throat hit" you'd get from smoking), I was a heavy smoker and I use the vapouriser a lot, yet I'm down to spending about £3.50 a month(averaged) on the liquid and the disposable parts of the device.
