I hated putting my crisis suits together because of how restrictive the unaltered model is to any kind of dynamic posing.

In contrast to this, ive enjoyed all of my tyranid monstrous creatures. Theyve gone together well and have a lot of dynamic poses available to them.

Delicious:
- Guardsmen
- Leman Russ Punisher/Demolisher/Executioner
- Carnifex
- Tyranid Warriors

Disgusting:
- Virtually every Necron kit I own. Every infantry model was apparently designed to be assembled by someone with 3 arms, in order to get the bloody gun in position.

Also, the old metal immortals require considerable work because some pillock at GW decided to emboss their logo on the tab - to the degree that it no longer fits into the slot on the base.

- The metal hive tyrant. I swear the "superglue" I bought from GW was capable of sticking fingers together, and nothing else.

Delicious: Deimos Pattern Predator Executioner- love that model! Plastic Deathwing Terminators!

Disgusting: Probably Finecast DE Wracks. Shoddy casting (mainly the feet, hands and spines). So much work needed to make them presentable. Metal and metal hybrid kits.

Delicious

Sternguard Veterans - So many wonderful options that makes them look so unique. Been using left over bits to spruce up other tactical squads etc!

Scout Snipers - I don't know what it was about this kit, but they just went together sooooooo easy!

Disgusting

Land Raider and Rhino - As mentioned in a few posts already, gaps where there shouldn't be gaps :(

Delicious:
Land Speeder Storm. It's a really fantastic kit with the whole crew. I mixed them with normal Scouts and leftover sniper rifles. Looks really great.
Also: every other newer SM kit. I even liked the Drop Pod and had no problems putting it together.

Disgusting:
The old Devastator box with metal weapons on plastic Marine bodies.
The metal Vamipre Baron on a winged nightmare. It just keeps falling apart again and again.

Delicious: WHFB Flagellants. Not because I build them as flagellants, but because they have the coolest bodies/heads imaginable for my traitor guard. I've bought several boxes just to kitbash.

I also really enjoyed putting together my Brass Scorpion. It looked so big and intimidating when it was in bits, but it went together really easily, and looks impressive on the battlefield.

Disgusting: Anything where I need to line up arms, wrists and wires/similar. I can never get it right :( I just ended up clipping off the hot-shot lastgun's wires on my Scions. Wireless, baby!

For me:

The good:
#3/#4 are Dire Avengers and Scourge. Dire Avengers have a great, if small, set of bits. Unfortunately, its really the only CW kit for kitbashing Autarchs, and is probably tied with Scourge for most-used by me (kitbashing Corsairs, Phoenix Lords, and probably some Exodites shortly). Have yet to actually assemble Scourge themselves though.

#2 is easily Tacs. So many options! Wish every kit was like this! Ammo pouches, combat knives, and a number of weapons truly worthy of a Tac squad.

#1 is the SM Commander. Yes, it shows its age. But it truly is a pile of bits demanding you design your own Commander. This box is what every primary HQ should be.

Bad kits:
Anything Finecast. Can't really rank them, but that material is terrible.

I like putting together CSMs still. There's something 'better' about how you can pose them and convert them.

The kit I hated most is the Heldrake. Too much work magnetizing it properly.

Blue-tac or any type of reusable sticky stuff on one arm to hold it in place (I usually do this on the left arm), while you glue the other one. Then remove the arm, the sticky stuff, and glue on the other arm.

Delightful:
Any of the plastic big monster kits. I love the hell out of putting those together

Deviously Disgusting:
In order from least bad to worst:
Exorcist Tank
Thunder Fire Cannon
Penitent Engine

The PE gets special mention because even if you some how have built it and pinned it and got it assembled it can, and will take itself apart again. Only kit I know that I wanted to build using a soldering iron.

The good:
Nobz box, cool models that go together well with plenty of parts and options to make them look cool. Really fair price for them as well.

The bad:
Finecast weirdboy was a pain with all the flash, holes, bent staff, and working with that "bendie yet brittle and weak" finecast crap. Tie with the hammerhead kit as it was a pain to assemble the first go and didn't seem like it wanted to fit together that well.

The Good: the Sicaran battle tank from Forgeworld. Maybe I got lucky, but mine went together like a dream.
The Bad: the original Land Raider Crusader with the metal hurricane bolters. The memory of assembling those fethers still haunts me.

Good: Tactical/Sternguard squad kits. Cadian Command Squad as well. They're neat little kits that let you do a lot with your army and are fun to assemble.

Bad: Ogryns, good god ogryns

Nork Deddog is made of 20 frickin pieces. His feet are segmented in two, his 1-2mm cigar has to be slotted into a gap in his mouth, and he's a pain in the ass to build. It took me three something hours just to finish cleaning up the parts before I built it.

I have 3 units on my "absolutely horrible to assemble" list.

That would be the old metal Hive Tyrant, Bloodthirster and Big Mek with SAG.

'Rant and Thirster loose limbs unless you pin it or drown the joints in greenstuff and superglue.
Big Mek with SAG (again, speaking about the old metal model) doesn't fit properly. Add the weight of the parts to the mix and you'll end up with more glue on your hands than on the model before everything is kinda where it should to be. And even then have GS ready to fill some gaps.

On the positive side of the spectrum, I can't pick any single model. As long as it fits, it's okay, but hell, that's like the minimum requirement for even halfway decent quality in the first place.

The Delicious:

RTB01 Space Marines. So ahead of its time. Great kit.
RT Space Orks: As above, plus so much character.
Modern Orkboys: Assebly only. Lots of choices not difficult. I hate painting them though. You need so many and they are filled with tiny little details to paint: Teeth, earings, wraps, straps, plated, rings, bands, etc, etc, etc.
Venom: Fun vehicle to assemble and paint.

The Disgusting:

Ghost Ark: I'm 1/4 way through assembling my first and my gosh! So ridiculously compicated. I"m looking at at least 6 hours for proper assembly.... and painting?!? The thing has 11 separate necrons and tons of hard to reach detail It looks cool though.

Necron Warriors: They're not super difficult, but the damn rod system makes the gun com in 4 separate parts. Sigh. Also, very little variation and NO extra bits. They're a breeze to paint though.

Despite its size, the Imperial Knight was the easiest model to assemble. Every piece fit perfectly.

Rhinos on the other hand... no thank you.

Love: Sternguard, so much bits!
Tactical Squad
Space Marine Commander, enough parts to make several cool looking models!
Cadian Command Squad, enough extra parts and heads to make a gunline look less uniform!
Cadian Heavy Weapons team

Worst: Scions, not very versatile at all, and the wires were annoying.
Centurions, for exactly the same reasons.
Devastator Marines, for not having all of the options (why only two of each?? WHY??)

Delicious: Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Terminators are both great to deal with. Tactical Marines are just as easy, but I am missing the abundance of horns and spikes. Plastic Terminator Lord has to be my favourite though- so many arms and so much bling to choose from.

Disgusting: Drop Pod. Assembling and frequently repairing Daemonette/Seeker arms also sucks, although the rest of the kit works well and looks great.

Most Disgusting: New-to-the-Hobby me dealing with metal Sonic Blasters. Wonky as hell, bits to trim off everywhere, complete pain to 4-point glue (shoulder-gun-arm-shoulder, and if you did it in bits they'd only occasionally line up right). The layers of skin I removed via superglue still haunt me to this day...

Delicious:
Any of the SM/DA plastic infantry. Never had a problem, lots of options, and I can get the little magnets in for the guns
Never had a problem with the gaps on any of the 5 rhino chassis I've built. Recently finished 2 preds with lots of magnets, fun stuff.

Disgusting:
Old thunder fire cannon. So much metal trimming... oh god the poor fittings.
Drop pods. Just like everyone who has ever built one will say.
And something I'm surprised to have not seen yet. The old land speeders. Holy cow. I felt like I needed extra hands and an animal sacrifice to get the planets (and parts) to align properly.

Delicious: Any Space Wolves kit except the one i will note below . They all have so much variety, so many bitz and you can really make an army feel like your own,

Worst: Logan Grimnar on Stormrider .

Not so much because of storm rider, but logan grimnar was a pain in the ass getting his cloak to line up properly wit hthe shoulder pads and his body.

On moon miranda.

I'm having to paint my Heldrake finally (after it sitting around for two years...)

I didn't even put the Dragon head and neck on (just stuck a forgefiend plasma cannon head to where you'd normally put the neck), and there's just too many raised areas and too much highlighting, this thing is going to take forever...

Why on earth did GW think designing this model with so much "busy" detail was a good idea?

Top kit is the ork dakka jet, wonderful kit; versatile, fun and easy to modify.

Worst is the eldar wraith lord. It's so static. I don't mind models that look like they are standing idle or models that are not dynamically posed but this thing looks like it's never moved and has no life in it. It needs extensive drilling and pinning to make it look good.

Great kit, the Imperial Knight kit. Put three of these together, painted each differently. Just goes together well. On the down side, not alot of customization is really available unless you hack it alot.

Worse kits I have ever put together. Drop pod, just not a fun joy to put together at all. Also the rhino or varients just seem to never go together well for me.
