Well I for one haven't given him a penny of my money since Transformers 2, and that was only because my wife bought the DVD for my son.

I mean, the setting has no helicopters or US military, no sports cars, American flags or super models.

Like... what would Bay even put in the film?

Oh, he'll make do with Thundercars, Thunderflags, and Thunderfurries.

There's a lot of weirdly anthropomorphic heavy metal in the show, IIRC.

This is one I really don't care about- Thundercats got the blood pumping when I was a wee one, but I can't give you a single detail as to why- which usually indicates its a temporary high.

Heck, I have a more clear recollection of SWAT Kats- The Radical Squadron and their wide array of nonlethal missiles.

LOved the first Transformers film - if he can do that again I'd be happy.

Oh and Megan Fox as Cheetarah sounds good to me

And Megan Fox as Calgar.

I'm pretty ambivalent about this one. I'd gladly see Thundercats sacrificed on Bay's altar instead of one of the few childhood shows left that I have fond memories of that haven't been massacred by Hollywood remakes.

So it would be 6th Edition?

Personally, I was never much into Thundercats, at least not beyond every 80s boy's shameful attraction to Cheetara... so Bay making this movie doesn't honk me off any more than I would normally be when I hear that Bay is being allowed to make a movie (of any kind). I don't think he can make a better Thundercats than the 80s did, not because Thundercats was that good, but because Bay is just that bad.

Still, i am kinda... curious... to see what a live-action Cheetara looks like.

Bayturtles was a great movie, the designs were great and worked on screen and the movie didn't take itself seriously and was close to the cartoon original not the more serious comics and more recent cartoons.

While I think the 2012 thundercrats retread was a really good re-imagining of the source, the source was silly trash, so Bay can do nothing but improve. If they did a live-action re-tell of the 2012 series in a grand LotR style filmography, it could work out.

Or a hokey campy robobears stuff with a transforming Mum-ra, that is cool too.

Budget cosplay isn't what I'm talking about. I mean a full-on Hollywood makeup/costume setup that has had real money spent on it and takes five hours for the actress to get into.

TL;DR not furry enough.

It was ok but you can't have a true depiction of Alexander without key events like the rebellion of Thebes, the battle of Issus, the seige of Tyre and glossing over the gedrosian desert crossing. They should have had Peter Jackson do the movie so it could have been broken into like 8 parts or something.

But it'll still be full of badly choreographed action scenes which takes the fun out of them.

In 10 years time we'll be thinking that Thundercats 1 was the best in the series - which will have ended with all the originals dead and a new leader 'Ben-Gal' leading a rag tag bunch of survivors such 'Short Hair', 'Selkirk', and 'Toyger'.

Mumm-Ra will be a turd wrapped in Toilet Paper.

Eh, all the people I know that enjoy Professional Wresting don't lie about it nor would they. I'm indifferent to it, but it takes a hell of a lot of practice and athleticism to do what they do.
