I'm looking at Warhammer 40K Chaos Spawn; hate the original models. I have the idea to use the GW fantasy Putrid Blightkings as Nurgle Spawn, or maybe Spirit Hosts to represent Crimson Slaughter ghosts.

Go for it!

Those WFB models aren't available in 40k, so they have not specific expectation. Put them on an appropriate base, and make appropriate Nurgle conversions, and you'll be fine. Note, in particular, Nurgle and Chaos Spawn are variable in configuration, etc. so you have a lot of leeway to work with. Be sure to 40k-ify the models with some CSM bitz and round bases while you're at it.

Ghosts are ghosts, not a concern, either.

Yeah, the second rule of conversions: you can get away with just about anything as long as it's chaos.

The third rule is: doubly so for Nurgle.

Slap some green and brown on it and it's Nurgley!

I usually have a problem with people not accepting my looted land raider as a battlewagon. I made it way back when they re-introduced the rules, but the old model was long gone. Nobody had a problem with it for years, then all of a sudden the ork firetruck releases, and "nah man, that things front is too wide" and get accused of modeling for advantage. I dont want to shell out for another battlewagon, and dont really feel like using it as the poor afterthought they made the looted wagons this edition.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I get a little ribbing for the advantages of my IG conversions, too.

I don't care, because I made the models to reflect my taste in what they should be, specifically to address issues with the way the official kits were designed.

John, it's hard to take you seriously. Your profile pic gets in the way

For ork players there is no line. Anything is an acceptable conversion so long as you're not the joker taping stuff together and sticking gum to things to make a unit.

I dunno something held together with tape and bubblegum might actually look pretty orky

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Generally as long it's roughly the same size I'm cool with it. The only exceptions to this would be some of the alternate Greater Daemon models floating around. If someone was using the FW GUO and the Glotkin as a duo of GUOs I'd be delighted to face them even though they're 3 times the size. I'd probably just give Daemons more slack in general.
