Thanks guys - got a doubles game in last night...

++Transmission Begins++
++FAO Badab Prime Tax Avoidance Office Central (definitely Loyal honest)++

Let it be known that Base X9011, garrisoned by Tiger Claws and Executioners forces pledged to our cause was attacked by the lackeys of the Inquisition, the Howling Griffons and the Minotaurs Chapters.

The initial assault was led by a heavy Terminator presence, but repulsed by the Executioners' first company (Heads for the Head Sofa!). This assault was followed up with Tiger Claws terminators and repulsed, though the Minotaurs commander succeeded in breaking through the line and defeating Veteran Sergeant Tony the Tiger Claw in close combat.

The base was held, and the Exeucioners remain loyal to our cause.

The Tiger Claws have been in-action again...

The Badab campaign is almost ready for Stage 2 and we've moved onto the 7ed Codex, which means I'd better get some transports built - I've put a load of old school Rhinos into Dettol, and I reckon I'll be able to get enough to field a Battle Company at some point soon...

Right, so, I've been playing lots of games with these guys, mostly because of the Badab War campaign at the club, so I thought I'd expand the army again with a load of reclaimed minis from the bits box, and make use of some of the 7ed Codex stuff.

Here's the batch!!

I wanted to be able to do a Battle Company, so as well as the additional Tacticals and Devastators above, I've stripped and glued together a load of old Rhinos and Razorbacks. This should bring me to six transports, and I'm planning a Drop Pod too.

As well as them, I had the body of a Techmarine lying around, and some Mantic tracks, so I thought I'd convert me up a Thunderfire Cannon. Not sure about the gun nozzle yet, but I don't have anything with four barrels anywhere!

This guy has an old Plasma Cannon backpack, a Zinge Industries servo-arm, another from a Sentinel Kit, and some bionics from Maxmini.

I also had some Land Speeders in the 'Arbites' pile, which have now been requisitioned by the Astartes! Astral Claws get free scout moves with Fast Skimmers, so it makes sense. These guys are set up for tank-hunting duty.

I also have a bit of a lack of AA. Thankfully nobody in the campaign is really using much air power, but I wanted the option, so I'm converting two older Land Speeders into Tempests using some spare Drop Pod vanes from my Chaos Dreadclaw conversion. Armoured cockpit is next on the list. If I don't want to field Tempests they'll also work as Typhoons.

Plus a REAL Apothecary. I wasn't too fond of my Corpse-Taker conversion, so he might turn into another Chaplain at some point in the future.

Hmm another use for those land speeders would be Storm Talons wouldn't it?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Yeah, possibly - I'd have to get some flying bases and count the nose Assault Cannon as twin-linked but they'd certainly work better as Anti-air. Not quite as fluffy, though, without access to the special Tiger Claw rules...

Been working on the canopies - Rhino vision slits and simple plasticard covers. Next step will be to file the odd corners and fill gaps.

Ok, Christmas has started and the (ever growing) batch has finally been done. The Tiger Claws are now a pretty serious force...

First, I've added some character options, starting with this Techmarine and a Thunderfire converted from some Mantic tracks and an old Robogear gun

And I've re-made the Corpse Taker using a proper Apothecary model

The old Asmodai model has been turned into one of two new Librarians, allowing me to use the Librarian formation.

Then, I've added another squad of Lascannon Devastators

And some extra tactical marine options

One full squad of tactical marines with boarding shields

Then, onto the vehicles. First, two more Rhinos

And then two old-school Razorbacks, bringing my transport pool up to six.

Since Tiger Claws Chapter Tactics make all fast skimmers scouts, I added some Land Speeders. First, two normal ones with meltas.

Then two conversions into Land Speeder Tempests - these were originally incomplete Speeder kits which I added to with plasitcard.

And then a Land Speeder Storm to transport some of my Scouts.

And finally, a rescued Drop Pod!

This means I have enough regular Tactical Squads to field a full Battle Company, though I'm one (free) transport vehicle short. Still, six Rhinos and a Drop Pod for free is fine for me!!
