Maybe we will see Codex: Xenos Mercenaries with a focus on Kroot, but it will include the likes of Tarellian Dog Soldiers, Nocturnal Warriors of Hrud, etc...

Nah, it'll never happen

This is win-win for me: I'll finally get new models and rules to tinker around with, or I'll have saved up enough money to do all my Christmas shopping rather than buy a limited edition codex.

Seems like a reasonable enough rumour to me. As someone else said with knights, harlies, tempestus and admech possibly coming why not? Kroot have a decent aesthetic, are established in the fluff, have potential for new units and models and arent too whacky as a faction. Whilst I have little personal affinity for them Colour me interested.

Just going to say, converting and playing a Kroot Merc army from Chapter Approved was very fun back in 3/4th edition. New units would be awesome.

Interesting rumor. Given that GW seems to be cannibalizing older works it seems plausible. Kroot have a handful of models now, and adding back the removed FW models gives you cav (cool models gakky rules) and big centre piece with a greater Knarloc.

I do hope they sort of rework the fluff to make it more cohesive, it seems a bit skewed between the tabletop and the battlefleet gothic stuff.

Anyway, I eagerly await special rules that allow Kroot to cannibalize Tau sales.

This is awesome and would make me quite happy.

I love my kroot, and have for a long time wanted a full army of them .In the past, I had considered trying to make them 'counts as" dark eldar, in terms of rules, and using various FW and other models.

A real kroot dex and new models would indeed be awesome.

(well, that and changing the stoopid gun from a 2handed back to a double weapon).
