McGibs wrote:I made my Bloodthirster from a $10 toy rhino-man and some chaos bits, and its what I'll be using for the forseeable future. The new one looks awesome, but the price tag is just too far out of my comfort zone (especially for a second thirster). The wings at least look like they can be magnatized, because there's no way in hell I'd be able to transport that thing plus all the other weirdly shaped chaos gribblies I bring to game. The change to the large oval base worries me lot for the future of other MCs. Gone are the days of carnifex/DPrince sized kits I think.
Wow, that is an awesome conversion. I wish the wings were closer to the shoulder instead of being so low on the back.

I tried it with the wings higher up on the shoulders, but it really unbalanced the whole model (both visually and physically). He needed a low center of gravity to match his squat posture, so I attached them to the back of his breastblate like an enchanted piece of armour. He himself doesn't actually have wings.

Touche. I think part of it bugging me might be the wings itself. You're right about him being squat, so if he had shorter but fatter wings, higher up on the shoulders might have worked.

Got mine for 75% off. Don't see the issue.
The hardest part is figuring out how I want to build it.

69.5 dollars is too expensive at half price. 34.75 dollars, which is 25%, would be too less, so maybe in the middle there.
I think GW should sell them for free.

Will probably use it -if- it gets better rules than it's current iteration in the Daemons book. I don't wish to spend a lot of money on a big model bristling with detail only to have it removed by the second turn. My favorite GD by far since always, but it just sucks compared to the others currently.

I think GW should pay us to own them as a way of apology for the prices
