Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Got a decent sized army of the Iron Brotherhood. Even converted up their tracked guys to have Heavy Bolter and Autocannon arms, with the big chainsaw from the Sentinel kit as their other arm! I use them as Praetorian Combat Servitors.

Combined with my numerous Servitors and all the Tech-Priests I own, I already have a good AdMech force. Now they're just going to get bigger better!

Here's a wicked thought, since the kit comes with enough arms and heads for two sqauds...

$10 for 5 cultists, (even less on Ebay) and it should easy enough to snip off heads or the CC arms.

The Chaos symbols even look like cogs...

some of those are easier to modify than others. I know, I convered 30 of them to mechanicus thralls. Some just dont want to give up their autoguns

No, probably not.

I have some Anvil stuff - very nice - gun carriages were a bit smaller than expected but good models.

Are there any good sources for cheap mechanical spider/walker legs? They are not too difficult to scratchbuild, just takes time to make a large number of them.

Are Praetorians actually in the rules anywhere? What book has details for them in it?

I'm thinking a box of these would go nicely with two boxes of Skitarii. Would build 20 Rangers, and the Vanguard heads/arms/guns could be used for 18 of these torsos.

i bought a box from wargames factory, in my opinion they are poorly constructed but do look quite good. i have just seen the skitarii rangers and vanguard and they look awesome.

have they released a codex, if so i cant seem to find one,

Thanks! As I recall the scout arms are cut off at the shoulder pad, so it uses the forearms and bolters. I made them quite a while ago, before I had a bunch of bionic bits and greenstuff cable making tools, so they're not as 'Mechanicus' as they could be.

Not so much for the Skitarii Codex but dependant on what ends up in the rumoured Mechanicus books, there could be a place for these items from Curious Constructs' last KS. Hopefully they'll be available via retail soon.

This is my favourite, but please note that I pinned the front legs on the rear and vice versa.

I've been thinking about using the pretty boy figure from heroclix for some mechaicum unit. They're dirt cheap and ya just need a head swap, rebase, and whatever other gear for the thing.

For those looking to supplement their GW decals, Ginfritter's Workshop sells a variety of techno-decals.

They were/are also available through Armorcast although I've heard their service has been sketchy lately.

I know this might be a long shot, but are there any models that would be a good sub-in for a Magos/Archmagos? I think the only forgeworld model available is attached to an abeyant.

Just stumbled on these and had to post:
http://www.fascinations.com/metalearth/Bugs/Tarantula

3D metal puzzle tarantula, I think it builds to about 100mm or 4 inches. A good base for an onigar scratch build.

Also:

A Dragonfly for an ornithopter build. Some kind of count as ally flyer I guess.

The really big musket thing looks hard to replace (Anvil's rail gun looks like the best option), the Empire Handgunners, Engineer and Outriders all have a good baroque long rifle though.

That plasma rifle seems like a very good stand in for the plasma caliver.
I hope we can find something that looks more like the arc rifle. That is going to be a tough one...
