Well, they're technically called 'Tankbusta' Bombs but they are the same thing.

Power Klaws in general help against everything too. But they are multi-purpose really.

Tyranids on the other hand...I can only think of the Carnifex off the top of my head, and possibly the Flyrant into rear armour. Crushing claws is great but S9 -> S10 on the Carnifex is neglible, and all the other uses of it are S6 Armourbane, not good. If Trygon gets Haywire, I'll be content.

Are zoanthropes any good at anti-tank?

Ideally yes.

But, you have to chuck an average of 4 dice to pass the psychic test, then get through denying, then need at least 5 Zoanthropes to statistically get 3 hits on a vehicle.

S10 AP2 lance is good for penetration though I admit, but there is a lot of dice before you get there - and you can always roll one's for penetration. You also need a Tyrannocyte so that they can get where they need to be, if your opponent doesn't come towards you anyway. It's only 18" range.

Then you also need to worry about any cover saves that they can get, such as Jink or blocking line of sight.

Total cost to guarantee wrecking a Rhino, assuming no cover? 250 min.

(I say min, that doesn't include Tyrannocyte (75/100 depending on upgrades), or the Neurothrope upgrade (25), which is decent).

3 Dark Lance Ravers are what, 375? So fully kitted out Zoanthropes are almost the same price. Still as inefficient as ever (not as much if you don't roll to hit for Psychic Shriek power in your meta).

Enlighten us then, sensei. Is the correct answer Tactical Marines?
Haven't you read any of the Jancoran threads? It has been proven to be close combat blob IG with all the heavy weapon upgrades. It won't die to anything except blatant list tailoring*.

*list tailoring includes bringing 20 scatterbikes, 3 squads of space marines with no upgrades, or any anti-infantry weapons.

Bringing anti-infantry weapons is list tailoring? Ok.

Btw, that IG blob with Azrael (choosing the warlord trait that gives his unit FNP when within 3" of an objective) and a few ministorum priests is indeed almost impossible to remove from the table. 50+ dudes with 4++ rerollable and FNP is no joke.

Where does the reroll come from?

The reroll comes from a War Hymn called The Emperor Protects. Only works in cc though.

Yeah, that was what confused me. The implication seemed to be that the unit would also have a rerollable 4++ against shooting.

The unit was popular I believe in 6th at the da release and it wasn't amazing then.
Good, but not auto include.
It's just gotten worse as plasma spam is less popular and scatter bike spam/ str 6/7 shooting spam is more popular.
I've defeated that unit with 3 squads of auto cannon havocks on sky shield....I believe it actually costs less to use the havocks.

How the WK is number 1 blows my mind. Centurions by far should be number 1

Their shooting is great, but they lack the mobility and resilience of the WK, not to mention the melee ability.

The centurions are good in a few situations, such as being mc and elite murderers, but not so great at plowing through rows of bodies, especially if they get pulled into a melee.

WK on the other hand is always good. D shots/melee can take on super heavies, 1+ fnp abusers, necrons, heavy armor etc, while stomps can clear the field of bodies in a hurry.

The list of things that successfully counter a well-piloted WK is pathetically short and often very situational or very dicey.

Also movement speed is a thing.

And some armies have no answer to one whatsoever.

DE has Haywire, Melta and Lance. The problem is what they can get it on.

Their other problem is poison kind of stinks against many armies.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Eye of Terror

I think some of these units will be eclipsed by the new Tau - especially eldar jetbikes and Flyrants.

The best units are typically multi wound which provides some survivability since the game is so focused on shooting.
