Ouch. My friend's only army is guard and I have Tau. Is all this leading up to an end times? Or some big shift beyond a mere new edition to something new? Or will the wheels continue to spin more or less as normal nothing to crazy.

Pretty much dashes any hope of Chaos Marines ever getting anything... At this point, I doubt we'll even see things like plastic Havocs, though I'm sure Loyalists will get 4 more Devastator kits over the next 2 years.

Thanks for the info Sad Panda, even though it's not what most of us would hope for.

Well if they carry on the 2 year release schedule it's only another year or so at most until 8th and people can start wishlisting again.....

I didn't even finish reading I've realized it was fake. No one can get so many details from a " It was in a secure environment, so no pics, sorry:" unless you sit there for an hour typing it and having all the information right in front of your eyes.

Bull crap, unfortunately.

edit- Also, taking a look at these rumors. LOL! No subtlety to these lies at all. 7 new kits? 4 new units? Why do people even bother making up these lies?

Well, the kit part is not that crazy. Look at what Tau just got-
Stormsurge (new)
Ghostkeel (new)
Fire Warriors/ Breachers (half new)
Crisis suits
Commander
Tidewall (new)
Gunrig (new)
Droneport (new)

It's the rules that are ridiculous.

Beat me to it, new kits and units is completely believable.

Chaos having interesting rules, I just won't fall for that.

No new csm kit. A formation that requires noise marines which funnily enough aren`t being updated and ya know GW hates chaos marine players. Why get a csm book when we can just use the loyalist one

Provided you use berserkers would the AoS khorne units work as berserkers? I always thought they looked the part. Still hate AoS but the look works for berserkers.

Personally I don't like the look at all of the new AoS styled armour subbing in as power armour. It just feels far too Fantasy'ish, with some 40k bits bolted on. The shoulders are the biggest area where this becomes hugely noticeable, as Marine shoulder pads are so iconic.

Besides, the AoS is an even larger "Chaos Tax" than paying for FW upgrade packs and/or converting from Loyalist kits!

Whoah. Sounds like the studio doesn't think pushing that model line further is worth it at this point. Yikes, sorry Guard.

As far as this rumour went, I missed the original thread here on dakka. But boy when I read these rumours for that first time, I was in 7th heaven.
Chaos allegiances rules look like legion rules to me, doesn't it ?

To me they looked great. Yeah, boo hoo, infiltrating Chaos AL army- so what? Go look at the flexibility the Eldar and Tau codices can afford their players- it's hardly a breach in power. Yes, Guard and Orks need this kind of love, but I'm not one to take it away from a CSM player. This "leak" or playtest rules or whatever the invention has a great feel to it.

Even if false, why not use this ruleset? Looks like mostly everything CSM wanted in a few broad strokes. If GW clearly doesn't care about naunces in its game, and the long time wishes of its customer base, then honestly you'd be fools not to take a bit back for yourselves.

We have a need for ITC. Provide your own FAQs, use these Legion rules. Be happy with your hobby.

GW is just plain evil. At this point caring about balance or updating all their product lines is just a joke. Remember that time when your army didn't suck? Well GW forgot and are only focused on tau and eldar which sold well because they had OP rules. Then they have the balls to say gamers don't make them much profit (about 20%) when tau and eldar get sold out constantly. GW are such liars and idiots and most of all greedy.

I know you used to work for GW at some point experiment 626 but lately they've reached an evil that I don't think anybody can stand (pretty much their factories run on the souls of dead orphans). Even if you'd rather not talk ill of your old company they just don't care. It's become evident they don't care about the gamers esp. for certain armies or universes (warhammer fantasy). They also have next to no clue about ways to make a profit in armies that are currently not doing so hot (i.e. making them not suck in the game and update the model line would be a good start).

Maybe it's time to give up on GW. It's kind of what they deserve given their track record. I just don't know what game to try instead if any. Would any interest me? Are any being played enough to get a game in and possibly not die to being so small? Personally the only reason why GW gets away with what it gets away with is it had the market. Not sure if that's the case anymore.

Considering how much friendlier other game systems seem to be I think I might be close to switching. After warhammer fantasy became AoS I felt that way but with dark eldar (an army I love the lore and aesthetic of) sounding like it's very low tier I just can't stand GW's crap. Balance your freaking armies for god sakes! I know it's hard but it seems like they don't put effort into balance and I've heard people say they don't.

GW will never give csm the equivalent to chapter tactics no matter how much we beg.

The Marines on mounts of slaanesh sound too good to be true. A unit of dudes all with ap3 heavy flames would be crazy good.

Tzeetch and nurgle in the second kit? GW has never done a kit split between two gods.

I am also holding out for Sentinels of Terra and Clan Raukhaan getting an update the way Farsight Enclaves did. Maybe the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands need to team up to break faces somewhere.

These rumors require us to belive that GW is putting out new Plague Terminators (and riding Noise Marines and Super Bezerkers) but not replacing the 10+ year old fugly hybrid Plague Marine kit (to say nothing of the noise marines and old zerkers).

Which is not impossible.

But would be uncommonly stupid of them to invest money in another marginal rare elite unit whose sales will be low, instead of a core unit people will buy multiples of.

I would say it would be very commonly stupid.

That's basically the GW way last years isn't it? Ork trakks/buggies from the Gorkamorka era; Release a big gorka/morka-naught and additional big gunz. Guard infantry are ancient impossibly proportioned and more bobble-headed than a pez dispeser; release a bunch of gigantic flyers and a multi-tracked transport. (Ok, they did release new storm troopers but nothing for regular guardsmen).

CSM will only get an update if they can think of a giant kit model for them. Should we releaswe more options for Berzerkers and regular marines....hell no, new Chaos Knight for $150us!! Then people can buy 4 of those instead of a 40 dollar infantry box!
