Nice! Really liking the conversions.

Long time no post.

Decided to actually paint something this week, namely Necrons. Wanted to do something simple and actually cover a full unit in a relatively short time.

Bronze with some metallic black parts (head, shoulders, spine, joints, gun) and a aqua-green patina wash. Reads both archaic machine AND ancient Egyptian... though maybe ended up a bit too dark and muddy. Probably should've went with the brighter gold.

I eschewed my usual habit of going completely nuts with conversions since I really love the existential horror of the Necron having traded away all their personality. Even battle damage felt like it would've given them character.

Although I allowed one exception:

Scarab Lord! The fluff here being his memories started to resurface so the powers that be decided to fix him by simply giving him an entirely new head.
The gun conversion was necessitated by the fact that I lost the clear rods for him. And, well, this was a basic Destroyer set and I needed to give him something more unique anyways. The claws, incidentally, come from Kroot rifles.

A uniform army? What is this nonsense?

Back to the Chaos Pirates!

So I found some of my very first Chaos minis I had built, and decided to tear them apart and remake them so they weren't so... noobish. This guy here was initially based on the center Red Corsair from here, red power fist and all (I honestly don't remember how intentional that was, I'm not sure I even landed on the pirates theme way back then...). Since I'd rather avoid literally copying something like that, and since I already have two other punch-y chumps lazily pointing forward, this guy gets to dual-wield chain-axes.

My Pirates need a few more big guns, and I rather like how this one looks. I think it's from the Loyalist Scouts? Honestly I don't even know what it is, I just think it looks suitably kill-y.

More guns! For years I didn't realize that weird snouted Spawn head was intended to go with the sucker mouths, and so had no clue what it was even supposed to be...

Chaaaarrrge!

For whatever reason I've had this zombie scythe just lying around waiting for some kind of use, so why not a Grim Reaper-ish dude with a giant hole through his torso? Might have to cut down the staff since lord is it long.

Rough concept idea: empty(?) armor puppeted by an unseen cephalopod.

Thanks for looking!

Nottingham (yay!)

I love these creative builds. They’re getting me thinking about adding some freaky stuff to my own Chaos
