Oh... . Some of them are actually quite nice. Not sure about the one with Space Marine stats. I guess for me the "Rat Piper" Mordheim shirt wins. The price though...

In the UK once you take GW stores out of the equation we honestly don't have many geek shops on the highstreet :( They have to adapt or die.
We've a few like Forbidden Planet, but only in the biggest of Cities - most other even large towns have a GW store but nothing else. The few that I do know of have either shut down or were always backwater (ergo that area of town that isn't shady but really isn't going to get the highstreet foot-fall) and often very tiny (we are talking so small they can't fit a table and a whole model range might be a dozen boxes or so).
Sadly the UK highstreet is in its death-throws with charity shops being about the only thing that can hold on (surprise surprise they don't pay rates  )
£80 for a canvus print - that's almost insane. You're almost getting into the realms of commissioning. That said with the amount of advertising GW does for their art site (which I've also never heard of) it wouldn't surprise me if the prices are high because hardly anyone buys! Drop that price to £40 or £30 and then advertise it like crazy and I'm sure they'd make vastly more sales.

Nice find, never seen that before. Well found that man!
The Open editions are £39.99 for an A3 Canvas print, which seems a bit more reasonable.
Sorely tempted by a Rogue Trader print for the office wall but I'm not sure I'll be allowed to spend £150-200 on a wall filling one.....but then the Mrs did commission a painting of the seaside to match the other two pictures of the seaside we have for a silly amount last year so I might have an angle! 
@ Overread; I have always thought the reduction in geek shops was down to the death/moving online of comic book sales plus the availability of comics in Newsagents anyway. Conversely In 25 years I have seen the number of games stores in Essex go from 2 to nearly a dozen in the same time (plus toy shops/hobbycraft type places).

It's pretty crazy that no-one seems to have even heard about those shirts. And they've probably been up for sale for months or even years.
One would think they'd at least mention their spreadshirt page in White Dwarf or something.

Except for the licensed Freeblade stuff, most of it is just generic vector art. Even when GW does something right, they still manage to get it wrong. It's like they have this weird affliction where they really want something (my money), have the capability and resources to get it (the 40K IP), but the people at the controls are autistic children with ADHD who either can't connect with me and lose interest the moment they do. FFS.

I only found out about them from a friend a couple weeks ago myself. Would be interesting to see how long their blog and the app has been advertising them.

A lot of the 'classic' art that people might want is of dubious ownership as we saw during the chapterhouse case (especially if it's used for something 'new' like a t-shirt)
And who (except GW and the artists concerned) know how the rights to the current stuff are purchased, the internal studio stuff will all be signed over to GW now by contract,
but I don't know if things like the book covers and other big colour plate are done in house or contracted out (anybody?)

A 40 year old gaming company who doesn't know who owns its art? Sounds about right for GW and their crack legal team.

I wouldn't say uninspired. They print all the vanilla mainstays that go along directly with the IP, it just feels like they only picked the closest apple from the tree. But GW could totally print other random and more obscure stuff from the 40k IP, I feel and not loose a lot of sales (if they have any, that is).

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature. |

Sounds about right for any gaming company from that time.
Things were a lot more casual, and more about gaming than money - miniatures companies even shared parts back and forth - so you might find Ral Partha wings on an ancient Citadel pegasus. (In a not at all random example.)
They weren't thinking 'This will be big money in forty years!', they were thinking 'We need a picture of space marines coming down from the sky - about four inches by six'.
The problem kicks in when people that were not in control of the company forty years ago go 'We totes own all things space marine!'

A lot of the artists were paid for the use of the picture on the front of a book or a box set but the actual rights to the image would remain with them .so gw could use that art on the cover of wd to advertise the new book or box set etc but of they wanted to use it for anything else they would have to pay the artist again . This was a much cheaper way of doing it back then when things weren't as controlled as they are now
