The idea I had for the red headed model was kaya moonhunter's dog Laris. Laris is normally all white, but I was thinking of giving it a red head.

You should consider getting into your dad's competition, or some of the monthly comps Para does. Would get to try out some different builds and get some really good feedback. You're already way ahead of the curve, and have a good support system around you, might as well go for it.

Greetings, Thing, son of Git.

I like your take on the Circle. It's got enough of the typical green druidy look that it fits the army with your own individual take on it.

You'll want to make sure that you get some amount of infantry to go with. If you have too many warbeasts in an army, you'll find a lot of them end up frenzying if you can't take off enough fury from them.

I was always a Warmachine player myself-Menoth and to a lesser extent(as in I had a whole army and not the entire range) Cygnar. PP has done a good job of creating armies with their own individual playstyle. I hope the surrounding gaming community is good. PP has excellent engagement opportunities with their league packages. I dig on their prize packs and the extra weird stuff they have such as:

http://store.privateerpress.com/shredderplushy.aspx

If you are looking to get something for your pops.

If I could have gotten Ice to even try the game, I would probably still be playing it. But, alas, that like everything else in the world, is his fault.

Enjoy zipping around the battlefield willy-nilly and blasting out beatdowns with your glass cannons. Play like you've got pair.

The pink army always wins. You beat the pink army? Go ahead and brag about it. You lost to the pink army? Well, then....

Now another thing Ice and I have in common.

Anyway.. once you get a game in you should do a report on it. From a new person perspective.

I think they've had some games, but wait for the new rules before making any judgements, they're going to be a huge improvement in streamlining things / etc

Yeah, we've played three or four games. We just realized both our rule books and cards are out of date so it's hard to make sense out of the on-line resources. I find it more frustrating than Thing 1.0 does I think.

The other thing I've noticed is that with so few figures on the table, an army rarely survives a bout of bad dice rolling.

Welcome to DDakka, Thing 1.

As for the red/grey thing, maybe make it so that the fur is grey and the skin is red; mostly what you have, but I notice that some patches of fur (such as on the legs) are red and for the heads you can make the muzzle and ears red and keep the fur grey over the top of the head etc. This should give you a good balance of red to grey, and doesn't need you to re-paint whole models.

Mastodon: @DrH@dice.camp
The army- ~2295 points (built).

I have been looking at the rules for warp stones and the like for my army, and I noticed that there are a lot of combinations as far as different guardians and stones to use. I thought that a squad of shifting stones and the keeper looked good, but I don't know how to place them. Any advice on what combinations to use and how to play them would be nice.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I appreciate the compliments everybody, I am thinking of doing a battle report once I get the updated cards so I can post the army being played with current rules.

Does any body have any suggestions for painting shifting stones?

I would say find some really nice rocks around your house, like Ritides mentioned. Then paint up a few runes and glyphs on it. This makes it cheap, but looks the part!

Alternatively, I could mail you a few odd rocks... My dad's a landscaper, you see, so we tend to collect rocks like most people collect Chinese takeout menus

Actually he was practicing using driveway rocks, but I broke down and bought him the real think last Friday when we went over to the shop to play. He's actually nearly finished with them now. Pretty traditional paint job but they look very nice. I'm sure he'll post when he's all done.

Looking great, all of it! Not seen much Circle around, although I myself am only getting my feet wet with Warmahordes. The beasts in particular look very good, and the green armour I love. May be a little biased with that though, as I play Dark Angels and Guard for 40k, Skaven for AoS/Fantasy and Cryx and Blindwater Congregation for Warmahordes, all very green.

Stones look awesome! I will point Wehrkind in here once things are back to normal for him a bit (he's got a crazy month going right now ) and he can give some great tips on how to run shifting stones and with / without keeper. I'm not sure on the optimal configuration - when he faces me, I think it's usually two units of stones and no keeper... but in other games I've seen a keeper.

The Privateer Press forums are also pretty crazy active, and so you can get great gameplay tips over there! Whereas here, I'm not sure any of these painters who comment on your threads actually game anymore...

(Oh wait, did I type that out loud!?)
