This is a wip of my tech-marine with a servos harness. I still need to do is weapon and make some modification to make him look like he wear an artificer armor not sure what i'm going to do. Idea are welcome! I may have to change the plasma cutter, now its just a old plasma pistol not sure i like that.
Anyway hope you like where this is going.

I like the old plas pistol as the plasme cutter, makes it very clear what it represents.
Is gold straps on the chest too simple for arty armour representation?

Heavy weapon guy with laser canon, as you can see one of them is in a non fire ready position. I wasn't sure about this. when i play i like my heavy weapon to look like they are ready to fire so i changed it
before
after
i know the look more alike but i still prefer that. And they are not in the exact same position
Anyway I hope you like them.

This thread is wicked mate!
The step buy step explanation of the arm and gun conversions was really interesting. Definitely worth the effort to make the model cooler. You have a very clean and precise style, well done.

Yeah me too, but the way i work usually i paint everything at the same time to have a consistent color scheme especially because there is camo involve.I think i will make the Night operation unit and the tech marine sooner because they have their own scheme. It will be good to have some finished stuff to show off.
I still have plenty to do first.
I have to find Howling griffon decal.
I still have up to 18 marine i can possibly make. (I don't think I will make them all thought, some maybe too damaged to save.)
A couples of vehicles.
I should make terminators too.
Next: I will work on this Land raider, then this Dreadnought
There a thing I really don't like about this Dread, is that piece here, there is way to much bling in my taste, i want to get rid of the dark angel visual and the purity seal. Or maybe find a more neutral replacement piece.

You could always use a little putty to fill in the Dark Angel section leaving the scroll visible...then the purity seals would stand out and not require you removing them with saw and file.

I just got all these in a trade.I don't think i will all use them for my howling griffon, some may join nurgle. I will use the Razorback and the 2 real Vindicators for sure. The home made(old white dwarf) custom vindicator will be use fto creat Sabre Tank hunter.
Sabre Tank Hunter
I really like the concept of the Sabre which is basically a ww2 Stug. Also I think event if the howling griffon are not know to use the sabre, it will fit the idea of my army: the howling griffon are known to be pragmatic and without supply salvaging enemy canon, modifying a rhino to fit their need. seem like a think they will do. The tech marine in that army had a lot to do .
For the canon. there is a lot of choice the sabre can use:
Laser destroyer, which is a little rare the howling griffon would be pretty lucky to capture one.
Neutron laser this one is insanely rare, but its seem to be the best out there
Vanquisher canon this one is pretty common but the weight of the canon + ammunition seems to reduce the performance of the tank
Auto-canon Only the old version in white dwarf use this one .it seems underwhelming to use a auto canon.
Right now the neutron laser is my first choice ,because I think if the griffon found one during the campaign the would see the absolute necessity to put in in service. but i'm still not entirely sure i will use this one.
The original white dwarf plan for the Sabre use a land raider body, i will not do that, but i may try to make it larger. the sabre have extra armor and no carrying capacity (the gun and power source take all the place).
Here some example of the Sabre

So what do you guys think about this idea?

Yeah, so do I but i usually like to complete the army before painting ,so the paint is perfectly similar.
So the Sabre so far look pretty great. It is almost finish i just have to add some rivet ,I won't add stowage since the canon and the extra armor is supposed to weight almost too much for the rhino frame.
I put some kind of reactive plating in the front of the tank.
So this is the main question for you guy . I was thinking about putting these extra plating on the side like the old Armour upgrade kit.( I will add rivet and plate design on this plate), but I'm really not sure it look cool ,maybe i should just add some little plate instead what do you guys think?

Its been a while since i posted, but i continued working on my army,i finish cleaning all the terminator and tank. I finish some rhino and a razor back, i will try to take more picture and post more often but this is a long project and i don't have a lot of time to work on it.
The rhino are nothing fancy just regular old school rhino with a little bit of stowage and all most of the original part event the side rail. The razorback is the same but i think i lost 2 of the trap door part i will try to find them. I think i should add antenna on these 3 too.
there also a little hint on the background on one of my future project for this army (all old school army need at least one toy conversion tank)
