There is nothing wrong with jetbikes and wraithknights. Nearly the entire space marine codex needs a point increase. The average marine should cost three times as much as a ork or eldar.

Quality trolling right here. Bravo
I really see nothing wrong with them.

Tau super heavies shooting me from turn 1 is annoying, space marine mass dops annoying as oh hell. But there is nothing that stands out to me as omg needs a fix. Maybe I just played with easy going guys and never had a mass abuser. But in my experince I never found wraith knights or bikes a problem.

We also have lots of terrain, and water features.

But the average marine bugs me like oh hell they are too well rounded.

We don't change lists after opponents are determined. That's list tailoring.

If you are talking about Touneys, then no, of course you can't change your list. But it's a Tourney, so you should expect people to have the hardest options
If you are talking about casual games, then of course you can ask your opponent to tone it down. Games are an agreed upon social interaction in which both players must agree, or no game happens

As an Eldar player I have multiple lists to play in casual games. If I think an opponent isn't going to have fun against my Scatter bikes and WK, then I use a list that doesn't have the WK and only has 1 per 3 Scatter lasers in the bike squad. I don't even wait for them to ask, It's that simple

Our casual games are determined by randomly assigning opponents with pre-set lists.

The Haemonculus Covens errata was badly written, though. It specifies Covenite Coterie detachments don't stack with Freakish Spectacle. But the various formations are not Covenite Coterie detachments -- so do they still stack? OR do they no longer do anything at all since Freakish Spectacle specifies Covenite Coterie? Of course, this is all stupid, because why the heck are they continuing to nerf a weak codex, this time with an out-and-out errata? It's so frustrating.

Then you can't do math. Tac marines are garbage on the tabletop, whereas Windriders can kill IKs from 36" away. Totally fair.

I agree. After seeing DE in action post-FAQ, I think they are worse than CSM or BA.

Wait until folks start seeing Wraithknights issuing challenges again...

Possibly. I just found it entertaining as folks railed against folks using the Iyanden Codex last year. All that discussion prompted a lot of events in my area to ban the Iyanden book which negated army builds. GW stating it is still usable is good to see. From reading various posts, it appears a lot of folks missed this bit of information in the FAQ and it gives Eldar players more options, which also include Wraithknights that can be the Warlord and gains the 'Character' notion. There was also a decent wargear item, (IIRC), the Spear of Twilight available in that book.

It won't make for the most powerful Eldar build, but opens up more options during army construction.

Hi, I started and Eldar & Harlequin army last year (new to 40k). I can't find the Iyanden codex. Is it not a physical codex? Are their relevant changes for force organization it allows? Thanks!

It's long out of print now, so if you want it you'd have to get it second hand.

Iyanden was a supplement (like Black legion for CSM or Farsight for Tau). It was physical but was discontinued when the new eldar craftworlds dex was released.

IIRC, it makes wraithguard/wraithblades troops choices, spirit seers got slightly different powers, and you could make a wraithlord/wraithknight your warlord if you wanted to. I think there were new relics as well, but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that.

Basically it was an alternate way to ensure that you had no friends in 6th for eldar that's only gotten stronger now in 7th, but you've already got the wraithhost which does 90% of what Iyanden already did, so it's no huge loss really.

It does not make Wraith units troops. That was the main 6e Dex with a spirit seer.

Ya honestly other then a decent relic or two all the illyden supplement does since you still require the current eldar codex is allow your LoW wraithknight to be your warlord and receive warlord traits hardly changes much.

Everything people wanted wraiths as troops or other 5th Ed shenanigans was from the old eldar codex.

The biggest change was still the warp spider errata however most organized play places already played flickerjump as once a turn however not allowing it to work in overwatch is a new change.

Ahh okay, I can see if my lgs has a copy or something. Thanks for answering my question. I ask because I bought enough models to make a wraithhost early on and was just wondering if there was diff force orgs like I heard their was in that IA book.

I was very fond of the Iyanden Supplement. Not particularly over powered, but a unique twist to the core CAD. I've had more than a few opponents appreciate Wraithblade Troops over 6e Serpents and 7e Jetbikes.
