Ah ok thanks. Does probably sound a death knell for wanderers continouing as a faction in the further future. Btw, say i did want to field the beetle by itself as house rules are now acceptable, what stats do you think it has?

Wanders are still a faction, as they are wood elves. Its just like The split from undead. You have ghouls and ghoul like creatures, then spirits and bones/vampires

As for stats, that's better left as a new thread in its own regard

You can download just the current AoS warscroll for the Arielle/Beetle combo on the page for ordering the miniature from GW. If that helps.

Could anyone tell me what the Stormcast and Sylvaneth formation is (specifically the unit requirements)? I don't remember seeing it on my flick through the book. Sounds perfect for me.

Thank you in advance.

1 branch wraith
2 treelords or tree ancients any combo
2 units of dryads
1 lord castlellant
2 units liberators
1 judicators unit

Is cool because there is the story of them and what they go through. Basically the lady of vines is carrying Ala's soulpod to a safe place and sigmar sends them to make sure she stays alive as nurgle is murdering everyone. Wont spoil any more but its all pretty brutal and a good ending

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They didn't discontinue the line like the did with Brettonia or Tomb Kings, and their units are split pretty evenly between being Wanderers (the "new" faction) and Wood Elves (in the Legacy section of points), so they clearly haven't given up on the faction completely yet like they did with others.

And even Tomb Kings and Bretonnians are listed in the General's Handbook if I understand correctly.

That sounds very, very tempting.

Yeah, but they're in a Legacy section, which I'm guessing is just a "here we don't sell these but there's points/roles anyway" section. Some Wood Elf models are there (the ones they don't sell), but plenty are in Order under Wanderers.

That sounds REALLY tempting. Thanks str00dles1.

I'm liking the autumn colour scheme for them...

I would love to play someone who used this to the max. You could easily get 9 citadel woods on the board at the start of the game from my understanding of the Battletome. That would totally fill up the board lol

That's what I'm going for! I completely changed my list now that I have the Battletome and the goal with it is to have 6 wood pieces on the table turn 1, either defensively against a rush army or offensively for long range ones, teleporting straight on them.

Honestly I am looking at scenery in general and it seems certain factions benefit from it. I really need a grave yard since it really helps out my death armies. Plus chapels garrisoned by a warrior priests they can heal wounds. I think later down the line we will see more scenery interaction.

Alright I went back to the book and you can easily set up 4x3 woods turn 1 with only one Treelord Ancient in your army. It's crazy haha. Thank god they made it so deploying units in deep strike directly inside the woods is made in the movement phase and not the hero one.

On the list of things that can be super strong, Dreadwood formations can redeploy a unit up to 6" away from the enemy. So basically you can have a huge unit of let's say 12 Kurnoth Hunters with Swords or Scythes being teleported 6" away from the enemy line, still have their movement phase to come 3" away, and then have +1" to charge thanks to one of the Sylvaneth unique Command Ability (Kurnoth Hunters are always in range of Command Abilities), so they can't even miss a snake eyes on the charge. The minimum cost for this is 1660 points. Which means you can still add stuff, including more Kurnoth haha.

Amazing! Another idea for objective games would be to create a solid line of trees in front of the enemy deployment to act as an obstacle for them to get through while you mop up all the objectives early.

Depending on how you play tree rules (if they can be removed from their base or not) you could possibly cage in some big monsters that can't fly, or at least bottle neck the entire army lol.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Got my Kurnath Hunters built. My two complaints were;

A.) That the box included the distinct unit leader and two grunts, which was annoying because I plan to buy a second box for a six man unit.

2.) Some of those parts are really long and Really thing, and made cleaning challenging to not break their horns and branches and bows.

However;

III.) Upon finishing building the three guys I found they Do give you parts to build the leader as a grunt, they just don't show that option in the instruction manual, so my first complaint changes to that instead.

Otherwise it was a really nice kit to build. And I was overall very impressed with the Color (!!) instructional manual that showed where all the connection points were much better than the old arrows. Wish it showed the instruction for the third grunt, but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out really. Also there was one part I saw mislabeled, but it was one that was clearly not right and not hard to find which one was intended to be used.

The Tree-Revenant/Spite kit is incredible as well. 12 different weapons for the 5 Trees!

Did all the part numbers match to the instructions? I have noticed a few GW kits that mis-number some pieces...

See, that's actually funny because I had to pull apart my Huntmaster after I realized that the instructions I had mislabeled AND mispictured the Huntmaster with the 'normal' bow. I kept thinking it weird there was a really ornate bow--and when I saw in my second box the normal set of instructions? I just trashed the erroneous instructions.

Yeah, I saw one part mislabeled building them, and the finished examples for the two bow grunts were swapped. I'll have to double check my Huntsmaster's bow to because I thought his looked better than the other two but I didn't really look at the extra one on the sprue.
