Kap'n Krump wrote:From the title, I was really hoping that some teenagers had help up a train by riding up to it on horseback and holding up the conductor.

That was my first thought as well when reading the title. That would have been so totally awesome.

That'd be hilarious.

Lived out of a van? Check. Stupid fasion sense? Check. Life dedicated to, and cause of death, feelin' groovy all the time? Check. Hippies, Frazz.

The Doors were not even of this earth.

Ok, Space Hippies.

Joni Mitchell...whatevs.

Sir! You have slandered one of Canada's most beloved daughters. Choose your second. It shall be cannons at dawn.

Excellent. Did I ever mention my intense dislike for L.A.?

I spent one of the most distinctly uncomfortable nights partying in LA in the early 2000s, and that included a trip to Morrison's pier and a naked pool party with at least three pairs of implants. None of us were over 21. The whole city* reeked of desperation and fakery.

Still, Slayer. A worthy third to Megadeth, who are themselves a worthy second to Metallica.

*I'm allowed to extrapolate my experience of one evening and the two dozen people I met to the entirety of a city of tens of millions. This is the OT.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

Nobody likes LA. It's where everyone needs to be, but no one wants to be.

This is Dakka. The approved weaponry for duels is whippy sticks and dice cubes...at dawn sir!

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

the worst part is that, for many, it's not even where they need to be, but where a lot of people *think* they need to be, making it even worse

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I love living in OC and being able to take advantage of LA's proximity without having to live there.

Still, if we're talking about Oakland, there are some nighborhoods that are beautiful and clean, and some that I wouldn't walk around in during the day, let alone at night. Different parts of the city have different cultures, but generally BART stations suck. You never hear "I met the most normal person at the BART station."

Take the cannon fight, Fraz. The only things Canadian cannons fire are apologies.

Show our hat who is boss!!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
