Isn't Dakka Dakka a family-friendly site?

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

CUCK CUCK CUCK CUKC

The funny thing is, that makes just as much sense as any other definition that can be discerned.

Using the term "cuck", as it relates to the sexual fetish, makes sense from an insecure d-bag's point of view.

It implies you don't own and can't control your woman. If I was an insecure d-bag, that thought would terrify me.

I think we've reached the point that the only appropriate response is a Futurama gif, because accusing Germany of being 'cucked' when gay marriage involves both genders equally...

Maybe shingouki can come back an explain exactly what he meant, using small words of clear definition that are google safe to search.

Explanations are not usually part of the package when dealing with persons who use terms like "cuck".

"Poop and scoot" is the usual method of operations.

You can't really pull that card. If you're going to say anybody who is descended from immigrants counts as an immigrant, then nobody is native to anywhere in the whole world. Everybody's ancestors came from somewhere else.

Only people who actually physically cross a border are immigrants.

No, actually, in the case of the US...which this reply was addressing specifically and not as a blanket application as you're trying to use for purposes of discreditation...that card is perfectly appropriate to be pulled.

those immigrants will form a significant voting bloc and cannot be ignored. Its only a matter of getting them "on board" or seeing them fall into far right wing camps. in the case of Germany a greater portion are of Turkish descent and they are already more or less pro lgbtq (compared to say, Saudi Arabia) but with even Pakistan now acknowledging trans on their passports I would wonder how much these immigrants are influencing attitudes in their home countries? IMO the Germans did this right, they voted, it passed by a massive majority, there is no controvorsy and noone was disenfranchised on it.

Living in Germany, married to a German, can confirm: Am total beta cuck. (also, I love that the far right has the same attitudes toward homosexuality and women as radical islamists do, they should team up.)

Merkel was savvy to do this, but of course voted against. She's got a good political nose but is a total cynic - letting the refugees in was the first non-cynical thing she's done in forever and she got crucified over it.

How many other European nations permit same sex weddings?

Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, UK (barring Northern Ireland because it is run by religious fanatics), Iceland, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Sweden have full same sex marriage. Others have civil partnerships whilst some eastern european countries have no same sex partnerships at all.

As for your question of how this will go down with immigrant populations, if those immigrants don't like it they can petition their representatives to seek a repeal in the Reichstag, just like anybody else.

Italy is the major european nation without anything even remotely close to a civil partership between homosexual individuals. Gay people can only date each other, they have some rights as a couple, but not like a marriage. It's a shame. The problem here is the damn vatican that influences politics. Our politicians know that and none of them, even the radicals or the progressists, dare to go against the church.

That's right, in 2016 civil unions (even eterosexual ones) got some rights, but it's still nothing comparable to what other european countries grant to homosexual relationships.

Just for the record: homosexuals in Germany could already have a legal marriage-like relationship for long.
This referendum is mainly about calling it "marriage" and not "marriage-like", and some rights coming along with that term, i.e. adoption.

But (AFAIK) for the sake of taxes, inheritance, lawsuits,... "marriage-like" couples already had the same rights as "married" couples.

I think the right for adoption is the only big new thing here. And of course annoying traditionalists that claim that the term marriage is only applicaple for a man and a woman
