Man, those armless dreadnoughts were hideous I'm guessing your War Walker has original pilot sculpt?
My only 2nd ed era dreadnought is one I sculpted myself from cheap modeling clay, based on part sheets from the back of the codex, because original metal ones were rare and pricey in Poland back then... I made two of them, one in the iconic codex illustration pose. Man that was lifetime ago

Flacons are what got me to start Eldar. I have two, and at least one makes it into most of my lists. Sure, they are second fiddle to a lot of other things in the codex, but that still makes them pretty decent in an absolute sense.
I need another WS. Missed getting the box with them bundled with the DA. Next time I can get one in a discount bundle with stuff I can use I’ll probably grab it. I new WL would also be tempting. I love the look of the current one, but he doesn’t really suit my style of play.
I just picked up 2 falcons on ebay to use with 8th. Yes, they are a little pricey, but armed with pulse laser and starcannon, it can dish out some pain with both weapons having -3 AP and causing 3 damage a piece. Perfect transport for fire dragons too.

Bought Dark Imperium today, and enough extra Primaris units from Ebay to make up a worthy force for a decent sized points game.
Still want more Inceptors! Watch this space for a new P&M log.
I'm officially putting the Aeldari / Eldar on hold for now - I think I'll just wait for the new book whenever it hits, I'm sure I'll be bored of my Primaris by then
Sad to hear that. I was really looking forward to seeing your Eldar finished.

I know, but I've been caught flat footed by GW a few times now over the past 6 months. I started a Raven Guard army at Christmas, bought my rulebook and Codex's inc. Angels of Death, and then caught wind that 8th Ed. was approaching in the summer.
So I started my Eldar, but now I think it's largely on the cards for revamps across the range, a'la Primaris and what they did in AoS. At this point I'd rather buy into something completely new, freshly released, and looking like the kind of army I want to play. I always wanted to do a 1st Company/Sternguard type army, and well, here are the Intercessors doing pretty much that as troop choices.
The good news is you can expect a P&M Blog of better quality than my Eldar thread - I've already got the inspiration for a custom Primaris force in my mind, and I'm even reading Guy Haley's Dark Imperium to get a real read up on the Primaris and what we might see in the future.....

We will see.
Are you confusing the wraithlord and wraithknight?
Because the wraithlord model is about 20 years old (and older than the wave serpent model).
The current Wraithlord was released circa 2006.
It's surprising it's only 11 years old, it feels considerably older when compared to things like the Dreadknight and Talos.
Its from the days when the box cover was a photo of the model surrounded by other minis, and the back call for "bleached bone" and shows them bascoating the mini without an undercoat, HOW DOES THAT NOT FEEL OLD?!
I have no idea when the packaging style changed, I mean most of the Dark Eldar range came out in late 2011 and the cover photo is in the same style though they have the newer paint names on them. My point, that you seem to have missed, is that when comparing the Wraithlord to newer, similar models like the Talos it feels absolutely antiquated as GW's ability to produce quality models improved immeaserably in those 5 years between them.

The new WL? Why does that young pup not feel old? Because this is the guy sitting on my shelf:
You kids these days with your fancy “plastics”. There is tons of stuff that came out in 3rd+ that I still think of as “new”. I’ve got minis older then some of my opponents, “old” is a very relative term.
Damn, and thats my WL model......
I like ebay. I try buy stuff from my FLGS 2 times out of 3 tho. They have tables I don't have to pay for.

I don't want the best army, just one that isn't an exercise in picking up my models by turn 3.

That's what I'm worried about. I love my FLGS, even if 2/3rds of them had no idea what 30k was, but its hard to support them when I can buy FW rhinos for the same price as their GW ones. They do, however, have plenty of OOP minis there, including a decent stock of the old Thanquol minis for some reason, so I'll probably be able to purchase a few more serpents even if they go OOP.

Selym wrote:He suits mine, but could do with being a tad less "Dreadnought -1".
Wraithlords are pretty good in 8th Ed and definitely not Dreadnought -1s.
Let's consider a Marine Dreadnought with Twin-Lascannon, DCCW and storm bolter against a Wraithlord with 2 Braightlances and a Glaive.
Both get 2 anti-tank shots at long range hitting on a 3+ so roughly even.
Wraithlord get 3 S9 attacks in close combat while the Dread gets 4 at S12. Advantage Dread
Both get 4 anti-infantry shots at 12" range but the Dread gets 2 at 12-24". Advantage Dread
Wraithlord has movement 8 and the Dread has movement 6. Advantage Wraithlord.
Wraithlord has 10 wounds and the Dread has 8. Advantage Wraithlord
OK, so far they are looking pretty balanced. The dread hits a bit harder while the Wraithlord is a bit faster and more durable which sounds about fair. Based on this, I would expect them to have similar points values. The Dreadnought costs 162 points while the Wraithlord costs 153 so it doesn't look particularly unfair to me.

new wraithlord would not be surprising.
wave serpant is very strong this edition so I wcould see it having actually sold out for now and they might be putting a reboxing on it to include the 8th edition rules in there like they do with AOS boxes and the 7th edition kits. maybe even as suggested a combo kit for falcon options but I kind of doubt it.

I wouldn't look too much into it.
Many things are sold out. Like a good portion of the Deathwatch (and depending on your country settings, the sold out units aren't the same).
Lots of stuff goes to "sold out", only to come back exactly the same (as far as I can tell the succubus, which was sold out a few weeks ago, is exactly the same as before).
I think GW is just very inconsistent with the use of "sold out" and "temporary out of stock". The former being used for the latter very often.
