I splatted some paint on the 2nd Runner and have done the flesh and hair of my two berserkers.

For the 'Zerkers I painted the whole upper body ashabti bone, then used flesh contrast paint all over, and went over the hair with orange contrast paint. Quite a quick easy way of doing it - a bit of tidying and highlighting and we're there!

Ok, just to keep the thread ticking over, here's a team shot showing my progress so far...

I played a TT game last week vs a Norse team - and as part of the roster they took a Thrower with Leader.
I wasn't sure I would ever do this, but then thought I might...

So I went a-rummaging in my bits box and put together a Norse thrower.

Bit of neatening up needed but I'm not unhappy with that.

I've been building things rather than painting - I'll try and do some painting updates soon but at the moment I'm doing the donkey work of blocking out main colours (and trying to simplify the colour scheme too!).

Anyway, I have the finished thrower, green stuffed and ready to prime. I'm pleased with it - I think it's unmistakably Norse and unmistakably a thrower. And I'm happy with the green stuff work - I had a LOT of gaps to fill.

I also had a flash of inspiration for some team-themed counters (turn counter, score counter and reroll counter - why do the box sets come with 2 when you need 3?).

So I made 3 of the Vikng-style crossed axe + shield icon as pictured. Think these will look pretty cool when painted up.

So I made up 3 mini-bases for the turn counters using the same recipe as the bigger ones.

So this is the stages of progress painting them up in team colours.

I'll add a few highlights but wont be too fussy about them.

I am glad I had the idea though.

Ok, minor update.

Ulfwerenars almost finished - I think the only thing I haven't done is eyes and numbers.

The eyes in the models are particularly tiny - I'm reluctant to do them if it's going to make the whole model worse.

Updates - Runners and Berserkers at practical completion.

Just the linos to go now.

Another quick update - thrower and the first lino finished.

I deliberately made the linos poses more 'static' to contrast with the dynamic poses of the positionals. I'm also painting all the linos with dark hair to make it obvious who is who

Here is what I have left to do - 6 linos, arranged in order from complete (far left) to only skin and blue base colours done (far right).

But it feels as if I'm on the home straight now.

Ok, Linos done. Had a stab at the eyes - they are ok but I think I can do better on the positionals.

Next update should (hopefully) be photos of the whole team, complete, with eyes done and number transfers applied. That will then finish this project!

Finished! It's taken me 18 months from buying the bits to having the finished team assembled, but here it is.

Team shot, and photos of the positionals.
