In order to fix this grievous oversight, Chapter Approved needs to either:
A) Reduce basic Marines in all those books to 11ppm (maybe even 10ppm) or
B) Reduce basic Marines to 12ppm and give those books Combat Doctrines
GW really need to double the cost of everything in order to give themselves some space to move without everything being a race to the bottom.

Oh yeah! Hell even trippling could work. It's getting ridiculously hard to finetune costs. But maybe GW is affraid players find dealing with 6000 pts armies too hard math. Too large numbers!

Yeah but if were doing what's best for the game where do you stop I mean personally at this point I would kill off the orks and spikey marines totally can you imagine without the Waaaahh and the the long whine the salt levels on the entire internet would drop dramatically and by upto 80% for hobby related forums.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Combat doctrines could easily be wolfy.
Blood Angel's doctrines would be blood rage rising fury fang.

Dark Angel's would have um... Layers, like onions. They love circles. Lion was one if the most noted Tactician amongst primarchs, his only redeeming quality.

Basically Doctrines by any other name.

Its GW. They love names.

Huh. If you filter out the fluff and pages upon pages of pictures, and just focus on stat sheets...

You can put every Space Marine variant, every unit, and every rule in a book the size of the standard SM Codex and still have room to do some fluff on each of them.

Maybe GW should do that, and if people want more fluff- they could do something like 'recommended reading' for BL novels for each of the factions.

or maybe GW can just sell cheapo versions of the codex with ONLY the data sheets/rules in electronic format call it the "compeitive essentials document" or something and knock ten bucks off the price

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

1: they're proably not going to be alone, but if the Ultramarines are present why would they need ultramarine faction rules?
2: I sincerly doubt it'll be 6 full legions, it'll be warbands associated with each legion.
3: it might not be a single battle but rather a lengthly crusade that sees them face severla warbands at differing times

Also a lot of the legions in question are shattered.

AL are anyways more cell like organized.

WB would probably be out in force though.Probably.

Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Plus, if it's a space engagement then the Eternal Crusader counts for a whole lot. Abaddon had to actually try hard to break through the Black Templars when the first Black Crusade was launched (and almost died doing it), and while Sigismund isn't around this time there's the potential for a lot of Imperial Navy ships, unlike that time.
