It also underlines the defenselessness (or spinelessness) of fans in this hobby, instead of pitching house rules (the sane thing to do) "hey can we say Land Raiders are OK to use for Primaris?" a simple question, to which the answer almost certainly will be "yes", they just follow the path of least resistance and buy the thing. I get kind of exhausted by this kind of thing...
Honestly, it probably is. Blind consumerism is something I detest as a human quality. I mean, the uncritical side of it. But honestly, that's not going to change, I am aware of it, and not looking to do anything about it. When you can easily avoid a model nobody likes by asking for a simple house rule "hey can we just use Land Raiders with Primaris" and you choose not to, and just buy the thing, it sickens me (if they don't like the model too)
So the anger comes from your perception of opponents as spineless fans?
If you were my opponent I would refuse to play you.
And for the record I find the Repulsor ugly as feth but that's a subjective opinion.

I like the Repulsor.
It's certainly not nearly as much as an eye-sore as those old "walking-washing-machine" dreads or those god-aweful dog-face terminators. Those are the "claw-my-eyes-out"-miniatures that should forever be purged from the memory of humankind.

The repulsor is kind of ugly and also kind of cool in its own way.
It looks like a Dustbuster covered in guns. That amuses me.
But to be honest, Rhinos are boring to me and Land Raiders are just angry WW1 tanks.
And I think the Leman Russ looks like a cartoon tank.

See, you're not saying how they're more cartoony. Strictly "it is is more cartoony I don't like it REEEEEE no new units!!!!!1!"
That doesn't tell me anything. The loopy shape of a Wave Serpent plus the haphazard turret I can say is pretty cartoony. Wraithlords having actual proportions of children's toys is more cartoony. So what makes the Dinobots more cartoony than those?
Also I didn't list the Tonka Truck as I was focused on the Dinobots. The issue with the Taurox is the tread wheel things. Having seen those replaced with regular wheels, as it turns out the whole model itself is fine.

I think it's the combination of it being a jank dead awful piece of plastic, creatively bankrupt AND an ugly message to fans from Games Workshop.
Basically it's: "This is how we gatekeep you from using models you already bought to support units basically the same as the new ones"
And the opponent: "Sure, I'll eat that turd sandwich whole! Let me open up!"
So before, I was able to convince myself "it's not my opponent's fault, don't take it out on them" but with the Repulsor it's hard, because it is partly their fault.
I get angry at GW, I get angry at my opponent, overall it's harder to not show it. Haven't actually lost my cool though. But I get the feeling something worse is going to come along from GW at this rate, seems inevitable.

So.... All I'm hearing is that you're pissed off because your opponent refused to let you transport your Primaris in your landraider & you don't want to spend another $100.

In other words he's feeling the pain from GW's anti consumer business practices. OP isn't exactly reacting to it in the most healthy way but I think the cause of said frustration is quite valid.

...sidestepping the most recent conversation to get back on topic...
Overread has given you some fantastic advice. That you interpreted their reply as trying to get a rise out of you suggests you're seeing your anger issues in others, when it's not there. Their post was helpful and kind, and not worded in a way to provoke.
I second (third, fourth, whatever) you talking to a professional about this. Also I'm saddened that your point of view means you "pity" people who are doing things they enjoy - their views are obviously different to yours. That doesn't mean they're beneath you.
LoftyS wrote:
The Repulsor is a blatantly transparent ploy to invalidate previous fan investment and force new ones. There is no irrationality to feeling anger about this.
It's fine to be annoyed about it, but not angry. But as you've said you feel "pity" for the people who buy them ...what if they're new to the hobby, and start with a force of Primaris? They'll be exited about their new toys, excited about a new hobby, and you'd be angry at them for that because they bought and used a model you don't like because it represents the company that makes it moving forwards and developing their product lines?
I'm saying this with no malice intended - but you sound like a very toxic person. Please talk to a professional before this anger you're used to defending and excusing manifests irl.

@ OP - So you are extremely angry at GW & people because of socio-political views attributed to the perceived culture, yet play GW games and buy their products and keep being part of the community? (obviously the products that fit within "acceptable" parameters for you) As others have said, I think the best thing for you would be to take a break or try a different hobby. You said you like gaming and such but from personal experience that does nothing to cure anger issues/mood imbalances and tends to do the exact opposite. (I had a real embarrassing anger problems with competitive MW3.. Like legit problems). I would recommend doing something really different outside of your comfort zone like some sort of boxcercise class/archery to really burn out and reset your brain. Maybe re-assess your diet and speak to a medical professional? This is by no means condescending or malicious, and from the bottom of my heart I'm trying to help. If you are honest, from what you have described it does not feel like a normal reaction and there could be some underlying issues. The fact you are getting defensive and try to justify the behaviour pattern suggests you know this is somewhat an issue.. Wish you all the best.

Again you're not going to find the answers to your solution on the forum, you need to put the internet down and go out and talk to a professional about this matter. We can't force you to do that, only you can promote the change for yourself and take the action toward getting help. You took a first step making the post here; now take the second step.
They always give stupid advice and ask stupid questions, every sesion the same ones. But the drugs do help to get calm. Physical work also helps, at least for me. After school and then training, I am generaly too tired to get really angry like in the past for example. Also writing seems to help. When I write something down, then try to change it to english, I get calmer after some time.
But it could be different for different people. I had a friend who would get calm if he would start to sing, and not hum, sing on full blast. Not very good for people around him, but it did make him calm.

Chaos are cartoon villains. I like that the models are reminiscent of power ranger mechs, tmnt gangers, Heman warriors. The cartoons of the decades. There is a certain honesty to it.
Everytime the loyallist player wins and you twirl your moustache and cackle 'you may have won the battle, but you haven't won the war!' Is a personal victory! Even the army wide special rule is a nod to this 'veterans of the long war'.

I doubt you're going to be locked up for using a quote from like every kids cartoon ever as a role play piece in, what is at its core, a role play game.

People can dislike it and that doesn't make them an awful person. I didn't say it did. What I said was that people who are angry about it are prejudiced or think they know better than everyone else or are trying to gatekeep. You can dislike or disagree with something without being angry, The anger is the issue.

Two things:
1. This thread has gotten insanely off topic, and as such I'm going to lock it. If there's a wargaming topic within this that merits further discussion, in a few days we can start a new thread for it.
2. We take insults / etc regarding autism and the like pretty seriously here. Please, don't joke about these things, and if there's an issue just hit the yellow triangle so the mods can tak e a look at it, rather than hashing things out in the thread (and also dragging it further OT in the process).
Thanks all...
