mate that is simply unreal progress, congratulations on your productivity! Unlucky with the archers; there's always something to miss. Hopefully you can shore that up with some more later on. They really look brilliant all together, fantastic colours.

Sorry to hear about your good boy - we really don't deserve dogs. It's the right thing sometimes when they are obviously in pain but it's not something you'd wish on anyone. Zeus is a great name too. I'll give my boys an extra pat tonight for him!

Thank you so much. I appreciate your words and sympathies.

I do indeed plan to shore up the archers in future.

The army shots are great, somehow the combination of all the different bright colours works super well.

Sorry to post so late but those army shots look great! Congrats on putting together such an impressive host. Asking from ignorance, did the Persians known for using any cavalry?

My painting log is full of snakes

Yes, although contemporary to Thermopylae it was pretty much light cavalry in exclusivity. As time wore on successive persian states/the persian state would add heavier cavalry.

I'm also still working on this project. I have 300 more persians to go. I'm just taking a break to paint some flesh eater courts and do a speed run commission for a friend of mine with some chaos miniatures.

Shame I've only seen these now but they look terrific, the colours are superb and as someone whose job mainly involves mucking about with ancient stuff I've got to say you've done an excellent job with the lovely bright colours of Persian gear.

I particularly like the pink you used on those shields in one of those earlier photos.

One and a half feet in the hobby
