He'd make a fun conversion into a deathwatch captain.

I love that they used the old chaos space marine Iron Warriors in his reveal video.

They'll be plastic. Black Library miniatures moved away from resin this year with the Custodian and the Sister of Silence, the former of which also had (in my opinion, at least) a poorly done head.

So glad the miniature matches the artwork. Too much creativity at once would be maddening.

It irrationally bothers me that the officer on the cover of Mortis is screaming into that poor Guardsman's ear and pointing at the impossible to miss war engine covered in explosions standing right in front of them.
Dude... chill out.

To be fair, if a titan is that close to you, you're probably deaf or close to it. He'd probably be better of using sign language, but he'd need a pretty big sign for the whole regiment to read.

I hope Xenology Two is good. Janus Draik doesn't seem to be the most knowledgeable or reliable guy, so I hope they don't make it too goofy with things like "ambulls are terribly strong, but if you're skilled like I am, it's an easy foe" kinda thing. What's great is it shouldn't really overlap too heavily into the first book. The Blackstone fortress had things like Zoats, ur-ghul, and ambulls, which the first book never covered. Plus, he could look at abhumans like beastmen, ratlings, ogryns, etc. (And he's sort of buddies with a kroot, though the OG xenology author was too)

Some of the newer books coming out looks great! I'm glad they're branching more into Orks ever since Guy Haley's books and Mike Brook's foray into bringing a narrative around them. I wonder if the Ghazzy book will be similar to the Skarsnik book from how its being recalled.

That new cover for Pariah... That's definitely Dervla Kirwan, right? It's not just me?

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I am tempted by that limited edition Alpharius book...

Do we know when it might go on sale?

And what time of day do I have to start mashing F5 in order to get a copy?

Also - yay Penitent!

1pm Eastern, whenever it goes up...I'd start mashing F5 around 1245 though.

You mean you don't get a copy of your own biography? That's disgraceful, dude - I'd have words with the person who negotiated that deal.

Penitent coming out finally is nice, but I do wish they'd kept the cover style of Pariah, with the foil.

I’m really excited for Penitent (and Pariah, which I haven’t actually read yet). The new covers are awesome, I especially love the special edition Penitent.

Tell me about it...

It one of the disadvantages to the whole "I am Alpharius" thing - some other 'Alpharius' signed the deal, and forgot about the comp copies!!!

Any one here read the Horusian War series?

Is it worth picking up?

And how about the Hamilcar Bear-Eater book?

Some interesting stuff in there.

As always, I'm annoyed that they do such small runs for the limited editions. Means someone like me has to scramble hard to attempt to get one, only to see a few dozen copies all over eBay later. I never bought into the super fancy Siege of Terra books for exactly that reason, it would suck to miss ONE volume and have 1, 2, 3, and 5 on your shelf but not 4.

Excited about a Pariah reprint, at least. And the Alpharius novel. And the Ghazghkull one.

First one was a total slog for me, was not a fan but I am glad I stuck with them they got good, not Ravenor or Eisenhorn good but solid.

This picture looks better than the one leaked this morning. But is he finecast? Black library models usually are, and the head and kneepad give my FC vibes. But I had hoped we were done with GW resin

They haven't done anything in the finecast mixes for years now. They're just doing plain ol' resin now.

Either way, it doesn't say.

I can't see a primaris model being in anything but plastic. I doubt the'll do anymore finecast.

The last few Black Library related models (Gotrek, and Valerian and Aleya who were this years BL celebration models) were plastic.

Are these really "such small runs" for a limited edition book though? Obviously the amount of them released is only enough for a relatively small amount of the potential customer base, but most other limited edition things like this I've seen elsewhere have had similar numbers released.

From what I can see GW's global supply of limited run books tends to be in the 1000 or lower, sometimes 1500 copies. That really isn't many for major 40K books of limited editions for major and popular series when you spread it out over a global network.

Considering many sell out within minutes it does suggest that there's a hungry market for them (esp since you don't see 100s on ebay being scalped)
