Quoted for Truth. Most have not been played, but I have at least read them all once!

Leaving works in progress on the table for too long when it would be best to tidy up and bring them back out next weekend instead of cluttering up the table for a full week.

Still thinking in terms of units and armies when planning/buying when I will probably never need more than a team or small crew for actually playing.

Messing with substances (coffee, energy drinks & coke) and making techno when I'm supposed to be doing "hobby time" LOL
Well that and procrastination in general I suppose

Not knowing when to cut my losses. Investing in armies when they clearly don't vibe with me for some reason.

Mines hoarding crap as well.
Last night I cut a bunch of cereal boxes down to fit inside just 1. Gonna use most of it up for roof shingles when I do get around to building a ruined town. Also got unbuilt nighthaunt frames in another cereal box on my desk I have to build still.
I also have a tonne of round snap yogurt containers that appear to be polystyrene (recycle code 6) stacked up too I was planning to use as a sturdy baseframe for building goblin huts, saxon roundhouses and tyranid hives out of. Probably didnt need 50ish but you never know!

Oooh, hard and expensive lesson learned here!
Leaving an idea in your head an additional week will show you if it ever had the chance to become real at all.

* I flip flop a LOT. Everything I see or read about is the best thing ever and I only ever want to play that.
* Trying to get my gaming pals in to something that isn't GW. They're mainly an AoS bunch and a few of them are Big Names on the circuit/play testers so it is very unlikely.
* as a result, I have tons of starter sets for games that will never see the light of day. JUST TRY DEADZONE YOU WILL LIKE IT!
* as a further result, I have loads of AoS armies started, but non finished as I'm slow, and the local meta can shift and honestly, I just want to play casual style.
So in short, being indecisive and having a short attention span! My local buds are starting a Necromunda campaign in January. I have bought the Necromunda starter box. Wish me luck.

Just stick with it. I moved to Naples a few years ago and bought a bunch of Titanicus stuff. After finding out nobody plays it here I just threw it in the closet in my gaming room. Last week at the GW I found out there's a local group of 6-7 guys that picked it up and I'm meeting one for a game tomorrow

Yeah, mine is trying to do too many things at once, by far.
I also can't really paint, but that one doesn't bother me all that much.

I can relate. We have a very diversified group, thankfully. But still there's a stack of minor league games that I bought because they were cool but will probably never get play.

Not being able to play multiple systems at same time. So if I'm in 40K, it's all 40K. Then it's Team Yankee and I lose interest in 40K, leaving projects half done. OK, how about some FOW now, modern warfare not interesting anymore. Hey 40K, how you been......
Oh, and then returning to finish that army you started painting over a year ago? Yeah, can't replicate the colour scheme.

Yup same here. I will buy a whole army then in the 'test paint' phase, I will paint one model and be like this army blows. Then sell it and buy a whole new army and the cycle repeats itself....then I will go and play video games for a few months, then look at my models and be like "oh yeah Infinity army" and buy another one. I have a problem, a big problem. I also like Genesis Climber Mospeada and Macross toys.... expensive hobbies I have.
o0o0o0o 'new shiny army syndrome'....Mechanicum in 30k still seem pretty cool.... o0o0oo Lost Judgement just came out..... o0o0o just downloaded Eschatos..... o0oo00o Nomads army..... o0o0o videogame RPGS "Like a Dragon" ( great game btw)..... o0o0o0 more awesome terrain....

I'd rather just buy multiple models to fit different loadouts than save the money , or forgetting half of my models special rules until 2 days later
I'm at ninety something percent painted (over a thousand models.... was at 100, then I bought stuff) so I'm one of the few for whom "unpainted mountain' isn't a thing.
That said I am a binge painter. I'll go all in for weeks/months and then go completely off of it.
I'll also buy non-funxtional stuff. You know, models to paint. That just sit in the display cabinet. And never really get used.and I'm sentimental so I struggle with the idea of occasional clear outs.

Making my mind up on what would be considered very minor, irrelevant design choices. For example at the moment I still need to paint the main gun on the Stormsurge, but it's not assembled fully yet. I'm not a fan of the number of random cylinders arranged around the back, but I know it's the correct way to build it, so what do I go for?

Where to even start?
'Every hobby project is a spark in the darkness. By the time it is noticed it is gone forever. A retinal after-image that fades and is obscured by newer, brighter lights.'
Starting cool, imaginative, ambitious projects and then getting a newer brighter idea consigning the first one to the closet "until later".
I'm kind of proud I managed to boost my Arbites and Space Fleet projects to a decent level. I have YET MORE for them but at least no one can say there were abandoned.
Cheaping out is another issue, I kick myself for not getting an Arbites army back in the day when they were both in production and there were rules for them. I wanted the but just didn't spend the money even when I had it. Meanwhile I bought stuff I didn't want or need because it was cheap (Wargames Factory).
Then there's my complete unwillingness to raise my painting level. I will scower the internet for modelling ideas and bitz, but sitting for a basic painting tutorial, nah. So I base coat, I ink, and I call it good enough.
Hrm. might be easier to list my good habits...

Mine is to go in without a clear idea, and end up tinkering with paint and color and posing... and layers upon layers later, a week has passed and I have exactly one model painted that probably needs to be stripped, with the rest of the members of a squad for example sitting there, waiting for attention.

I dont properly clean my brushes and clean out my wet palette. I am then shocked (SHOCKED) when my brush bristles are sticking out everywhere and I pop open my wet palette and my nose is assaulted by a horrible moldy smell.
Thing is I know better, but I keep doing it anyway.

That depends on his standards. I'd love to paint my 70 Poxwalkers to the standard I would for a painting competition, but that's alot of painting.

I obsess over very minor colour choices for my armies and as a consequence have heaps of paint I’ll never use, and 3 armies with very slightly inconsistent colour schemes. I paint a squad of Templars, I do Zandri Dust base for off white shoulders, next squad hmm maybe I should try pure white and a light blue wash, next squad maybe I should layer up from a light blue? With my Word Bearers, maybe I should try a deeper red, next unit maybe I should use a brighter silver! Repeat on and on etc.

There is something about “Don’t the let perfect get in the way of the good”
One of the guys at my FLGS was a great painter, but a perfectionist and painfully slow. 5th high elves, Every time he took to the field it was a handful of excellent models in a sea of primer. Did he need to maintain that standard for the soft detail monopose rank and file guys in the back rows? Years of play, and he never had close to a fully painted army.
For almost everything I’m also a play it painted guy. It helps motivate me to finish units so I can get them to the table. When I’m starting a new army, I do relax a bit as I just don’t have the stock of painted units to build lists from.
(I don’t hold my opponents to my standards, but do enjoy a battle vs. a fully painted army a lot more than one vs. the Grey Legions)

Mentioning painting makes me remember another one of mine.
I can't stick to a paint scheme. Partway through painting for an army, I'll think "I'm bored of this. The next guys are going to be purple instead."
And I end up painting every unit in a different scheme.
