On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Yes right.

Another that was mentioned on the Crown of Command podcast (well worth a listen if you are into Oldhammer!) was the 4th edition Fantasy Chaos book cover, which had something that looks very much like a daemon engine or Lord of Battle on the front cover (those featured heavily in Chaos Epic forces at the time). I would love to see the original print of this without the wording!

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Well, Soul Grinders are still a thing in both WHF and 40k so Daemon Engines are definitely in WHF.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Isn’t the space communication elf type shenanigan much more likely a portent of AoS as that’s in a linked setting to fantasy, than Eldar in the unlinked 40k?

Khorne quite often rewards his followers with Technology rather than magic, some of this is 40k tech - the Amazons and the Lizardmen have 40k "artefact" tech weapons, armour and equipment.

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

It’s fantasy setting tech. That is similar to 40k tech.
Not linked settings.

I think the settings definitely are linked

They might have been but they aren't now. Not outside of Chaos being present in both and both being called Warhammer.

It is as Gert says,
This has been clarified since. Retconned if you will.

I mean it was never solid that the universes were linked in the first place. Just winks and nods, so I'd hardly call it a retcon.

Fantasy Skaven were originally a variant on Beastmen and Beastmen exist in the 40k universe as well.

With Squats coming back I think a Chaos Ratmen army would make for a good rival force. Yeah I know Chaos squats already exist too, but I like the idea of rats as the antithesis to dwarfs more.

Mantic has a line of Space Skaven, called Veer-Myn.

...you make expensive ugliness...how do you do it?...let me guess....

There's rumors of Chaos mutants being a thing, and Skaven would fit right in with them.
