I wouldn't over evaluate the banners. It looks like each side has a banner that relates to the same thing. You can tell by the banner top. So that's why there is two squat banners, two necromunda banners, etc. It's easiest to tell with the LoV and the HH ones, but the rest line up as well

How kind of GW to host a 40k reveal event on my birthday (the 4th). I mean, I will be too busy enjoying Doctor Strange to watch it, but it's the thought that counts :-P

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The video has the Underworlds logo but the graphic doesn’t and the graphic has Warcry but not the video? Next Nethermaze warband perhaps. Will Warcry be another box set or 2nd edition?

There's an argument to be made for not overevaluating, certainly...

But last year definitely did make use of the banners.

I don't know, looks pretty human to me. It looks like a daemon is litereally bursting out of it, so the size doesn't really matter. It kind looks the same size as Skorpenek now that I think about it.

This also confirms a rumour.

Possessed humans are meant to be on 32s according to the rumour and possessed on 40s, so skorpekh size is still a bit big for either of those.

I remember the leak from B&C and no base sizes were ever mentioned. As far as I'm aware. That was the only leak about the new Chaos Units that was accurate and credible.

You're right, I can't recall where I read it now in honesty. Still, I can't imagine a normal cultist unit being on 50mm basses. At least it's not a long wait to find out!

I think they had planned to show the new underworld starter box at the fest. But for some reason they have advanced it. It was a very strange release, without miniatures previews.

They may have corrected the flags and forgot to correct the video. (A few weeks ago in the video for "next week" they said they will show miniatures of necromunda, and written in the article they said miniatures of blood bowl. In the end it was blood bowl)

Or maybe they just forgot to put up the flag and show another band at the fest.

BoLS started reporting a 4chan originated troll list after that one from B&C was confirmed via the BT box.

Scuttlebutt after the fact has pointed towards two types of mutants as part of the Renegade Guard+Cultists setup, with one being Big Mutants.

Knee deep in bone ash, gore and mud

I'd like to remind everyone what a big let down last years Warhammer Fest was. You don't believe me? Last year it was 6 days long, that is 2 days longer and this is all that was in on 40K day:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/05/04/warhammer-fest-online-day-2-warhammer-40000/

+ Gaunts Ghosts that are still not available to this day one year later. And we had already seen some of the Sister minis prior!

Don't get your hopes up too much if you don't want to be disappointed.

My expectation:
40K they'll just show 2-3 new minis for the CSM release. If anything, that banner is Word Bearers btw. There will be a hint about World Eaters being missing, "but tune in for next time when we will reveal what will be revealed next".
Then they show the Squat we already know and then one other Squat and maybe some vehicle artwork. They'll talk at length about everything that has been already posted though.
Killteam: They'll only show 4 models of one of the next factions, hopefully it's Lost and Damned or Cultists. That is why the other banner has the generic Kill Team sign.
Necromunda: They'll show the Cargo-8 and everyone will be like: "We already saw that!" and then there will be nothing else, except the stuff that is so "CRAZY, you need to see what we released these last weeks".
AoS, Underworlds: Dunno, but considering recent releases, they would deserve some more love. Also it looks like one of their minis is centerpiece/big reveal.

Meanwhile, I will just tune in to the Community Article that will have anything noteworthy anyway and spend the time rather to play my favorite skrimish game: "Black Library Novels". :-P

I was guessing Jabberslythe. Neck is very jabberwocky, but the human bits dangling off of it scream possessed.

I'm so conflicted right now. A plastic Jabber would be amazing, but weird CSM/cultist thing sounds more likely.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Could the Wings also match the Rumour Engine ones?

As for banners: I wonder that there are none for Skaven but two for Sylvaneth. Also I see generic 8-pointed-star and the CSM Helmet on red background. I wonder if the generic star could hint at news for Slaves To Darkness for AoS, although this seems unlikely considering Whitefang hinted Skaven and him being the most reliable AoS Rumour Source.

Unless it has an impaled human, I don't think it's a jabberslythe. As others have pointed out, you can see 1.5 human feet, arms, and potentially even their head. It would be a pretty small jabber

lol...I'm so glad you brought this up!

Gaunt's Ghosts are on the webstore here in the US.
Their level of popularity seems to be fairly high, as they go in/out of stock as quick as the Zone Mortalis Floor Tiles.

There was multiple days of 40k stuff, by the by. I ran the rumor thread about it here on Dakka.
Spoiler:

Day 3, Black Library, had Gaunt's Ghosts and the Vincula Insurgency since they were tied together.
Day 5 featured the new Cadian upgrade frame and the Beast Snagga Army Pack.

Meanwhile, I will just tune in to the Community Article that will have anything noteworthy anyway and spend the time rather to play my favorite skrimish game: "Black Library Novels". :-P

Also the generic star is matched with a banner topper to the CSM helmet.

Did Whitefang give a timeframe for Skaven?

Nothing on the Titanicus front...hmm. Been quiet for three months now since the Direwolf reveal...

I'm going to guess that Warcry is going to get repacked Underworlds kits. Although we might be looking at a new edition, as the game is about three years old now.

40K, Chaos Marines or Chaos Daemons. Squat-Voltrons, or whatever they're called now...

Kill Team...dunno. Lictors'n'Deathleapers.

AoS...Sylvaneth and Skaven.

Necromunda will probably be more Ash Wastes. Please let it be a desert Ambull! Don't think, GW, just do it!

The Horus Heresy is obvious. Full on launch box reveal and all that jazz.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Going out on a limb and guessing that the AoS Chaos battletome will be Slaves to Darkness and the new mutant spam thing being teased will be usable in both systems. No proof, but wouldn't be shocked if it happens. I think I am in Skaven denial and want to believe when their tome drops they will get a decent release of new/updated plastic models.

New AoS packaging for Clan Rats and Plague Monks was photographed recently so looks like a codex is coming soon but both releases were the old models unfortunately.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the news Warcry starter include a new Skaven warband.

Also for in support of what you were saying, this is a word-for-word copy of what was rumored about CSM on B&C:

CSM:
Plenty of new kits for 9th Edition.
Regular Possessed,
Bikers,
Chosen,
Warpsmith,
Cultists (BSF-style),
Renegade Guard (BSF-style),
human mutants,
possessed humans (the latter two are monstrously horrible. Think of the Greater Possessed but cranked up to 11),

cultist standard bearer (character),
cultist character with bodyguards.

In fairness those two kits are not that bad and the clanrats aren't "that old" compared to a lot of the other stuff Skaven have. They've still got a good number of fully metal models.

Tough to get excited about an even slower set of previews to what we normally get. This will be like their more recent previews, just spread over multiple days. I wouldn't expect any more reveals.

Didn't expect more Votann so soon, hopefully a few more models revealed- I'm guessing probably just. few members of the same squad from those silhouettes and maybe a mention of if/when an army box might be arriving.

I'm guessing the main 40k reveals will be around chaos coming. Sylvaneth for AOS obviously.
Killteam and Warcry are the big unknowns I guess.

All the Mortal Realms barring Azyr (Sigmars crib) have a Warband plus the Spire Tyrants as a "generic" Chaos Warband and the Shadowstalkers as something a little different. There's still a lot that can be added for just the Chaos side with each of the Gods getting a Warband and possibly Beasts of Chaos and Skaven as well. Then each of the other factions can pop in too as the Shadowstalkers did for DoK.

We also have the long hinted at "Dawnbringer Crusaders" which might be a great little faction to tease out in Underworlds first, before moving on to a revamp of CoS which DBC are supposed to be.

I kind of do, I expect to see the full army get its release sometime in Late-August-Late September based on some of the stuff I've heard my local store manager mention. It's possible that they'll be later (October-November) but something is nagging me inside telling me that it will be a late summer release.

The 'generic' Chaos star design in the back is used pretty heavily in Age of Sigmar, far moreso than 40k.

I'm betting they announce a Beasts of Chaos vs Sylvaneth battle box.

The generic chaos star banner has the same banner top as the CSM one, so I think we can assume its for 40k

Huh. Totally didn't catch that detail. I stand corrected.

I stand by my bet, though.

Yeah I’d have shocked if they wasted new Skaven kits doing clan rats again when so much more needs to be done.
