Ah yes, the support squad! I have a plan for those in the future. Mine will personally involve alot more warpfire...

Just waiting for GW to come with damned troop upgrades for the Word Bearers. Always the forgotten son...

I am looking forward to any sort of shoulder pad and torso update... Also Cataphractii shoulder pads.

If they have re-done Horus then they are bound to redo Lorgar which is another Primarch upgrade i look forward to because the boy looks a bit bored.. Etsy has a Dynamic proxy which I am looking into..

I had the same thought as well, but only because of the 'ascendant Lorgar' rules that are available. In the meantime, I plan to represent this with a modern, crimson paint job.

Thats a way you could go to make him look more dynamic... OSL as well... accent his face hes not supposed to be a aggressive figure.. I imagine him hanging back... On Armatura in Betrayer he throws masonary at Titans and brings down thunderhawks with his mind...I used the books for a lot of inspiration my Marines are attacking Armatura so Im going to put masonary and ash on the bases...

And behold, the Word Bearers now have a primarch to lead them into battle. I think I made the skin a little too pale; the man makes Kurze look like he has a healthy blush to his cheeks. But it goes nice with the green glow I guess. I should probably make those terminators into a command squad next.

A here we have a chaplain and a diabolist ready to bear the Word into battle.

Great work I always look forward to updates on this thread. I ummed and ahh'd over using the 40k Dark Apostle in my 30k Army I dont know why I always had the image of some frothing lore accurate loony shaming me from across the table...

But it works here.. oddly .. Mine is back in the 40k Word Bearers ...

But I like the work so far keep it up!!

I think it depends on the army. Word Bearers and certain parts of The Sons of Horus were deep into the chaos aesthetic by the war’s midpoint. You can also tone down some of spikes by swapping it out with some vanilla space marine bits.

This is VERY true I have a Chaplain Consul who has a warpfire pistol and spikes on his back pack.I have swapped out the normal Vexilla for chaos stars and the like..Horns and the like on helmets for my Praetors and my Sergeants in each of my squads...

Its Chaos but not making it so obvious its chaos... the subtle lean in the gradual throwing off of the yoke..of the false Emperor..

Tremendous work all round Mr.Nobody, have been tempted by Word Bearers for HH as of late, not seen too many renditions of them! The bodies mounted on your tanks tick the boxes for me, real nice reminder of the Abnett Calth books.

Cracking job with the paints Mr Nobody! As for lorgar being too pale skinned, I think it works for him, especially with that great OSL from his neckline! The chaplain and diabolist are tremendous too

I haven't gotten much work done lately. My focus turned to other projects.

But I did manage to get some paint on my apothecaries.

Now, I know that Gal Vorbak is wiser choice, but there is something the Ashen Circle that just really appeals to me. Power armored super soldiers flying around on excessively large jet packs, wielding flamethrowers and fancy chain axes. It's all just OTP in that warhammer way.

The ashen circle are gorgeous models. I very nearly picked them up myself for SoH reavers.

Your WB are looking great so far. Looking forward to seeing the iconoclasts with some paint on.

Zardu Layak and his bodyguards are finished. My one regret is that the mutated flesh came out a little too pink and it blends into color the armor too much.

Nice conversion with the DA chaplain! I love that mini, been looking for a place for him in my WB, HH's more open wargear selection might be the way for me, too.

I have finally made more progress on my Word Bearers. I have painted an entire five models! Some Ashen Circle from FW. As cool as the possessed are, there's something about the Ashen Circle that I thought was just too cool to pass up.

I've been trying to add more browns to the various layers and I tried using an agrax earthshade between each layer of the metallic golds. This will give more of a feeling that everything is covered in layers of soot and old oil.
