I may have missed a game or two in there.

I'll add in-

Kryomek, VOR the Maelstrom, and a small fart in the wind with Legions of Steel. I'll leave fantasy games out.

I like seeing the game come back out, but I hope the game gets a more stable footing, company-wise. About a month ago I was digging out a few that I'd had in the back under a bunch of other stuff for a new home. Glad I didn't send it off, just yet.

I was one of their demo reps a long time ago. They came out of the gate strong, but the tabletop market was just to big, and they had so little, starting out.

Distribution and consistency kicked them in the dingy on more then one occasion, then that fluke where they didn't protect their yarbles, and lost the license didn't help them in keeping a product. I'll pick up a box, just for kicks. And yes, the minis were great, and are a good break from corporation upscaled overpriced flashes in the pan.

I remember the game being streamlined, and the minis were pretty fair for the price, as well as getting people in pretty easily. Those boxed armies were a plus. one of those, you didn't need much else. We used a lot of Kryomek and Armorcast scenery with the game.

Later on, and now, the figures are great for generic sci fi, or added inspiration for other games. You can use the different units in cross factional armies, so it is a mini wargamers paradise in making your own army, and having fun building your own army up.

IIRC, they were supposed to come out with some buggies and 2 tanks. Did that ever get off the ground?

What? Ah. Oh. That explains why nothing matches up with what I remember.

Imagine plastic Ares suits!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I have two hovertanks and six-wheel APC which I use as a sponson-less Chaos Predator. The tanks are proxies for Falcons. I bought the quad-walker, but broke up the parts to use for chaos dreadnoughts.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

I bought the quad walker too, thinking of ways to mid it for my AdMech force.

Wasn't there a mini tank? I remember wanting to get it 20 years ago and not having the cash at the time.

Not sad to see a possible resurgence for VOID. Here's hoping it goes well. Frankly, wouldn't be sad to see a resurgence for VOR, either.

I got one of the 6 wheelers that I modded to stand in as a Tauros Venator

and the Archangels still hold up to many GW offerings to the point where I was recently looking to buy some from eaby, and eat the terrifying shipping cost.

Glad that there will be more.

VOR already attempted a resurgence on Kickstarter before wargaming Kickstarters really became a license to print money in a lot of cases. I'm honestly surprised it's not been attempted again.

Do Seb' have their own plastics production? or are they sitting on stock? Seems hopeful for a glorified test the water product.

Yeah, it was a year or two too early. The first tabletop minis game/models line that I remember taking off was the Mantic first fantasy plastics one that got to over $300k. I couldn't believe that the method of crowdfunding raised that much from gamers.

The whole thing just went insane in 2012, IIRC. Kings of War, Deadzone, KDM 1, Bones 1, Relic Knights... a glorious time without "fake" stretch goals and social media spam, just creators genuinely flabbergasted that geeks are throwing so much money at them and hastily sketching additional stretch goals onto napkins

I remember that. It isn't often you see somebody miss the boat by being too early of an adopter. And I agree, it is odd that they didn't give it another go once KS became a goldmine.

I'm likely to strongly consider possibly picking that up if I remember when it comes out!

Is Scotia Grendel still in business, or is there five or six people still arguing on who owns the game, again?

Who are we supposed to buy these guys and the resin vehicles from, these days?
