They marked an edit to their article about the Black Library Celebration last week, but granted, they do sometimes alter stuff on the sly.

The Steel Rook is quite possibly the most un-GW like GW model I've ever seen. It looks like it'd be more at home as a Kingdom Death mini.
It's very interesting. There's something about it that quite clearly states that it's a GW sculpt, but it doesn't use any of the visual clues that normally litter gw sculpts. Were it not for the single twin-tailed comet hanging from his belt, i'd almost believe it was a really well done mini by an independent sculptor.
Really nice miniature though, and I think it'll be one we see getting used in painting comps a lot.

I've never been able to get to an Event Day as I live in a regional area and I can't remember if GW released limited events minis a long time after online.
The company champion was MTO once. Check Mad Doks loot group to pick up exclusive models without being extorted
Thank you for the info I'll look up the loot group I need that Steel Rook Bird Knight

Implying that non-attendees can buy them at a later date is good.
They’re probably just giving themselves a loophole so that they don’t get hammered by the hard core collectors crowd who object to limited edition stuff ever being reprinted.

I’ve believe they stated a while back, that all event only minis would be event only for the first year of launch, moving to made to order afterwards.

Got proof that was edited?
If not no reason to think it was.
There's been once non-event only model and it was clearly said so. Before event only been event only and marked as such.
