Hopefully GW are smart enough to realise that Heresy is basically an old folks home (I mean this kindly!) for players who don't really enjoy the churn and change as much. But maybe corporate mandates will over rule that sensible strategy. Wouldn't be the first time.

All depends on what people define as a new edition.
As per my earlier observation, Necromunda has had various prints of its main rules since 2017. But, those were incorporating existing FAQ and Errata into a printed volume.
Now, I dare say like Rogue Trader, there are only so many tweaks, revisions, clarifications and that before something is, essentially a New Edition. But 8 years in, and Necromunda hasn’t hit that just yet.

Every game we have stopped playing was down to rules changes, or the game going out of production.
It takes a long time to build and paint an army, I started an imperial fist force when 2.0 dropped, and only have about 2000 done so far.
I have plans for another army buy that project will never get started if this happens.
The churn and burn kills long term investment in the games. Its why the only game of 40K i've played in five years was 7th edition. At this rate I'll just end up as a grumpy historicals player.
Why wouldn't you guys just keep playing 2.0? Including making that next army.

I've enjoyed playing ZM. I will continue to build and collect infantry that make that viable. 3.0 will continue to support ZM or something similar.
I collect Dark Angels and Emperor's Children. So as long as any marine releases work for these legions, I should be ok.
Personally, I would be ok with a 5/6 year churn on editions for TOW and HH. Keeps the games relevant enough but long enough to where you aren't replacing all of your books frequently.

I wouldnt mind edition tweaks ala Necromunda, where they adjust core rules for balance purposes, etc. What I dont want is edition churn that invalidates collections of campaign books the way 2.0 did for all the black books before it.

I wouldn't call HH2 invalidating what were sometimes decade-old books "edition churn".
The first half of the Black Books were invalidated as soon as the Age of Darkness rulebook was released. You can still play the campaign systems and missions in those books, there's nothing stopping you.

I dont think he was saying 2nd Ed was a churn. Just that as a new edition, it meant Ground Up replacement books.
