A Seraph and some swordsmen.

I started painting these in the same batch as my Legion stuff to use up the red paint.

More progress on the Legion of Everblight. I started painting these at the game shop on
nights when I needed to kill time before I picked up my wife.

I like the colours on the legion, but dislike the bases. I don't know why, but it is to bright... As it is WIP it might be that you just brushed the colour on, but right now I don't like...

I have been looking through your blog and I saw a lot of models where really shiney. I know I am not a great painter and I do not use seallant much, but isn't it better to dullcoat?? it would make the models look nicer IMHO?? in the end it is a matter of preference though....

The problem with dull coat is that it is not as resistant to wear as gloss varnish. So if you want to protect your paint jobs you need to apply gloss first. I'll apply a coat of gloss and over it some dull coat for my metal minis because I like the matte finish, but want to protect the paint jobs the best I can.

Actually, the bases get brighter as I drybrush ghost grey on the wolf grey. Maybe I should
have went without the blue wash, but it's a little late now. Oh well.

I put on a clear satin finish because I like the shine. It also helps me remember which
models are actually done.

I used to do this. Now I just hit it with two coats of Satin and call it done.

I'm still not sure if these are called Serpent Guard or not...

Your cheap ploy for attention may have won this battle malfred, but it leaves me sorely disappointed at the lack of pokemon.
But I guess as long as I'm here, those shock troopers look awesome, as does the tarnished metal on bane knights.

Those swordsmen are starting look really good in a cartoony way. Nice contrast with between the red armor and blue skin.

Thanks. I need to learn my color adjustment, but I rather like the effect as well. The skin is
darker in reality, but I think the red is spot on (if a bit messy).

The purple is a bit much and needs some highlighting with gray.

Nearly done. Just need some highlighting if I can be bothered to do it.

Not really. I went into painting overdrive for Legion of Everblight when I saw eThagrosh.

Mostly done.

These are test models using Corsair models with attached Dark Elf Warrior arms for Spearmen
with shields and repeater crossbowmen.

Getting these to rank up is going to be problematic, I can tell.

Your minis look good, all of them!

Sloppy red highlights with the patented shiny satin varnish. (Was happy I found more cans of
the stuff in the store. For some reason there have been few cans when I go, so I buy
up whatever they have left).

I like the corsair-conversions. They look good. Even the satin finish is not bothering me on these...

Haven't you sprayed them as heavily, or is it another brand?? Or are you getting better at making photo's or photoshop (for fixing the glare...)

I spray just as heavily, two coats as evenly as I can. I think what happens in some pictures
is the lighting. When I lower the lamp to a certain degree, it really reflects off the finish.

It's really obvious on my Legion of Everblight stuff. You'll see when I post it.

Huh. I hadn't thought of that. So now that means I'm going to have two armies that
look like Vampires (Dark Elves and Legion of Everblight).

Maybe I should just give up and get the eyeliner and black cape.

I don't like the visible slot, but I couldn't be bothered with fixing it. Another interesting
tidbit about this model is that people call it different things.

Some refer to it as "Beast Nine"
Others call it "Beast Oh Nine"
And then there are those who call it "Why have any other warjack?"

Anyway, I'm happy with the end result.

Three shots of my second unit of Doomreavers. The ink is a bit thick on the skin, but
that's fine. They die really easily anyway.

Question about these guys:

Do you think it would look odd to have regular warriors behind them? I ask because the forward movement of the
Corsairs makes it really hard to rank them up front and back
with shields on their arms.
