Thanks for all the interest, you may or mayn't be interested to hear that once again I have picked up scribe and cutters and shall be posting Thunderhawk progress summarily. I have also bitten the bullet, took out a second mortgage on my humble abode, genuflected('can't believe I spelled that right!), and purchased a bona fide and certified Chaos Warhound from the manufacturer (i.e. FW) to complement the neglected Lucie; with the promise to be arriving in 10 14 days. look for an update on the Lucie thread.

Just so we maintain continuity I'll pick up from the last images I posted. I was about to start the left wing and the first order of business was to taper the leading edge to 4.5 mm in a cursory nod to an airfoil. This day I cut the indents in the leading edge, note the accompanying images:

Actually while I was taking an break mxwllmdr has surpassed my efforts. It's going to take some doing to get back into contention. The wing is coming along nicely and after these images are posted I will be gluing the left wing components together.

I really think the idea of framing the wings is a way better method than my layers of Plasti-card. Much lighter I can imagine.

Backwards and upside down to boot. I am really chugging along on these wings (At least for me anyway.) I accomplished the wing armour and dressed the trailing edge; once the glue is dry I'll enclose the boxy trailing edge tips and build up the control surfaces. I allowed a centimeter extra on each wing just in case they look too short; not too much lifting surface for a brick-like T'hawk. I got a little sloppy on the armour plating which is why I stopped work for a while but the wings differ by about one millimeter now which should be acceptable.

Anyone who can build two excellent Reaver Titans in two months shouldn't be using self deprecating qualifiers

BTW how tall did your Reavers turn out? The FW ones are about 16.0".

Yeah, but I did that by the seat of my pants making it up as I went along and speed don't mean quality. I can look at picture of the Mona Lisa and draw it out fairly well, too, that don't make me an artist. Many times I put extra stuff into the internal structure just to make sure it wouldn't fall apart. The loyalist is sitting at 14.5 or so but I haven't mounted the Deathstrike missile on the top yet. Every scale and pic I have seen includes the APOC Launcher in the overall height. The Nurgle one is still just a torso from the waste down. I am waiting to hit it hard when the Loyalist is done.

Actually I just rechecked it and it is about 15.5. Mine may end up slightly too tall.

My mantra has always been,"Good enough is never good enough." but after a day of work I'm going to go out on a limb and say these wings are good enough.

The wings are ostensibly done except for the detail which is the fun part. Hmm, I forgot the trailing edge devices which appear hinged but display no discernible seam to allow for movement. The structure mimics the control surfaces on the rudder and elevators. Expedience dictates these surfaces needn't be movable for the overall appearance of the model after all it's not a child's toy. The speed brake were a different story as there was a lot of detail hidden beneath them which added to the overall asthetic appeal of the model. No, I talked myself into it, no movable control surfaces are necessary.

Holy s*** Blackadder that is just to much detail , really love the attention to detail. I wish I could have the time and cencerntration to undertake such a massive project.

Yeah I know I'm slow but I don't play Warhammer and my son is away at college so there's no rush and I enjoy building for the challenge not the finished product. My biggest problem right now is focus because................
