Well I'm curious about this chaos dragon, do you think it's an actual ship, ala a vehicle, or something like a MC, because I'm hoping it's a MC, like a Chaos Undivided daemon. There's been a rut on not producing anything new for daemons in so long. That the newest daemons actually came out for friggen Chaos Dwarves. Those things are the closest to new daemons in the entirety of both lines.

Well, if it's anything like what's been described (dragon made of flame wearing steel plates as armor), so long as they don't stick too many "futuristic" looking bits on it, they could easily make it one of those 40k/WHFB cross-over models Chaos armies seem so fond of.

Armoured flame dragons? Bah! Now Ragnarok, that was a cool sci-fi dragon.

Or how often DA players lament that everything that made them unique has been given out to all the other SM armies. But thankfully GW seem to have as I say realized the mistake and begun to give each SM codex unique units, themes and playstyles thus allowing them to continue to sell the core SM units which is the primary purpose of multiple SM armies but now they actually provide a mechanical worth along with it.
GW learnt the wrong bloody lesson. Smothering the life out of the game by making every second codex more Space Marines? That is not fixing the problem. Fixing the problem would be exiling Mat Ward to Games Workshop Alice Springs and replacing him with someone who would do Space Marines right.
This x1000. Marines have been killing 40k. You have to wade through a sea of largely identical codex's and books of Red Space Marines vs Green Space Marines vs Light Blue Space Marines vs Black Space Marines, and so on.

Please take this to one of the weekly "I am sick of Space Marines" thread and stop spamming the News and Rumors thread.
Thanks.

There aren't really any new space marine codexes aside from grey knights and even that's had representation for a long time. Whats stifling is the slow codex release schedule that GWs adopted alongside a policy of revisiting marine codexes with updated rules first.

Actually that sounds surprisingly close to the Chaos Dwarf daemons.
They are daemons of Iron and Fire, like the K'daai Fireborn, or the Destroyer.
If it's anything like the K'daai Destroyer fun times will ensue. Not to mention more chaos undivided daemons are welcome! I'd love for them to finally get creative and expand the universal type of daemons.

At first I had thoughts that a dragon in 40k was a little out of place, but today I remembered that Kharns axe, gorechild, was made with dragons teeth...so I guess it is not THAT odd...

We aren't. Codex creep doesn't exist. All 5th edition Codices are balanced with one another.

Tyranids say HI.
Anyways, can we keep on topic.

There was dragons on the Salamanders planet too, as a few chainaxes and some of the special blades are made from them too.

Please bear in mind that 2nd edition 40k is what turned GW into a small UK based company and into an international concern. Ever since 3rd edition, 40k rules have been about selling as many miniatures as possible to make a complete army.
Coincidentally, Warmachine & Hordes have the same model count for a normal sized game as 40k did back in the 90s and they've experienced record growth while GW has stagnated with its huge model count games that the average customer quits before actually playing a full sized game.
GW could learn a lot by taking a look at what made them a huge company in the first place.
Sadly, I think 6th edition will be yet another rehash the rules while keep the underlying structure the same.
Oh, I'm waiting for the across-the-board point cost reductions to make armies bigger. Space Marines are now 5 points! Orks are 2 points. Guardsmen are 1 point each!

Until something more concrete comes up, I think this can be closed... These things tend to devolve into why GW does or doesn't suck 'debates' while people wait for new rumors :(
A new thread will be up when something new turns up boys.
