Hi folks, sorry I've not been able to participate recently. Our internet line's been down here, so... yeah. That's kinda been a problem. I'll get an IC post up ASAP, as the net's still a bit ropey, but my actions will come down to fire at whatever's closest, Hellfire rounds unless lower AP would be better.

Squad Nirn
Prescience cast.
Fire ranged weapons. All except Haraldson and Willie wound. 4 Genestealers down, 2 to Raphael, 1 each to Nirn and Morr. Haraldson throws a frag grenade, but misses.
Close combat. Nirn kills 2, genestealers score 3 wounds on the Squad. Willie takes a wound, Nirn and Haraldson both save the hits against them. Morr kills 2, then Haraldson kills 3. Raphael scores a hit, but the creature’s armour saves it. Willie scores 4 hits and 4 wounds on the final Genestealer, demolishing it.
New enemies will be revealed later, but they’re gonna be big!
Squad Solem
The Squad open fire as the pyrovores flamespurt cannons belch forth fire.. Ignis burns one pyrovore to death and wounds another. Renzo throws a frag grenade which hits, scything down another of the beasts. The rest of the bolter fire is ineffective, scoring hits, but saved by the creatures’ armour. Arthilos fires, killing another beast. The Pyrovores’ flame finds gaps in the armour of Ignis and Renzo, wounding each of them once. The 3 dead Pyrovores explode, the shard’s of their armour flying through the chamber. One embeds itself in a surviving Pyrovore, but the armour prevents the creature from being harmed. The squad also take hits, and Arthilos suffers a wound as a sharp fragment penetrates his armour.
There is a screech from the ceiling and a Lictor leaps into the combat. Post your next actions here please.

Renzo has some slight warning of the Lictor due to his in-built Auspex, so turns to fire upon it as it leaps down, opening fire on full auto. He calls for the rest of the squad to also open fire, particularly the Multimelta, and advises to keep distance.
If the hail of Hellfire rounds doesn't work, throw a Krak grenade at the Pyrovores.

You passed 2 armour saves from the genestealers, then chibbed 3 in close combat, so probably a fair trade. Squad Solem took a bit of a beating in their fight though.

At the surviving pyrovores or the lictor? It'll be an initiative test to shoot the lictor, so you only have a 50/50 of being able to even take the shot before its on you.

I'm assuming I can ignore the initiative test just because the flamethrower should pretty much engulf the entire tunnel, right?
Elysius Ignis, wounded, keeps as far from the enemy as possible while still being able to flame as many of them in one go.
If the Lictor gets close, well, let's hope that power sword he picked up earlier proves useful.
Cas, do you think you or maybe someone else in squad solem could add my results to the end of their IC post somewhere? I'd appreciate it as I am away currently and don't really have the time to write posts for this game.

Hey now, uncalled for. This is one of the issues of role playing. Real life can get in the way and cause issues. Castiel is a very good GM and has a long and fantastic track record. I don't want to start bickering but do not insult anyone when you don't know what is going on in their life or why they arn't posting. Thank you.

The others have already said it, but I'll add my own voice to it Trond. Roleplaying is about fun, not saying mean things. A lot of games don't work out and yeah, sometimes the GM is lazy. Sometimes the players are lazy. Castiel is very dedicated however and we all know he's had a lot of internet issues recently. Add to the fact that most of the players abandoned this game and there's not much he can do.
It might be an idea to start up a fresh game on here or elsewhere - the Deathwatch is a very fun aspect of 40k (I should know, once GM'd an 80 page Deathwatch roleplay that got too big for its boots) and it will always be a popular game idea.

I'd dispute that part. That RP earned every bit of praise it received. I think if another Deathwatch RP were established it would have to be a long term game, and that would have to be made clear from the outset. While the game can't run without a GM, flaky players are pretty much a death knell for RPs on Dakka.

Spare me the moral speech, my point whom was lost to everyone it seems was that when you start a RP and get people involved. Thus making people spend time & effort to involve themselves in a game the GM should have the decenceny to show even a mild amount of intrest. Or if real life comes up leave a message to those he/she/it has reeled into said game.

In Castiel's defence, I will point out it's unusual for him not to leave such a message, which points to the aforementioned Internet problems, rather than simply a lack of interest on his part.
