thanks.

Totally forgot I brought some more terrain back home, so spent a few hours on Custodian helmets.. these are now 90ish% done. Need a final highlight on black parts and some purple glazing into darkest areas.

Great zoom really makes them look bad :''D

After a small rest, moving on to Lake Town Houses! Boi, these are cuties <3

Today I will try building Bard's house. In other words, copypasting the house shown in WHC article. And after that I will still have 2 more houses left to build.

Yeah. I think I will have to buy some bricks from GSWorld though. They definitely need some chimneys!

In the meantime, been working on some more Custodes shields...

Those shields look ace! What a mature gold tone. Really rich and I love the gradient you've achieved.

Will see how it will turn out when all parts of the model will be painted in such manner

And today is a happy day, for I have finally bought everything I ever wanted from FWs Legio Custodes models. So now I can at least rest assured there will be no more spending in that category

Definitely!

No, in all seriousness, I've ordered one of the Zone Mortalis sectors again. Will try working one at a time and see what happens.

Jeez, I've soo many things to do now: LoTR, Custodes, Lake town houses, even more of the 40k terrain. And I have this new Deepkin terrain ship coming in tomorrow or wednesday! Gosh..

So here I am, strolling into our crib to see this fishkin fish tank ship waiting for me.
"Screw them Lake town houses, let's assemble this gak!". I was surprised it is made out of good plastic, not the gakky one like Dragonfate Dais is.
All in all, a pretty standard kit, with your regular GW sprue nonsense, requiring to glue head into slot even though the rest of the body was molded fully and things like that. Quite a few mold lines as well.

Can't wait to paint it tomorrow, just tried some Decayed gold from Scale 75

Creepy. Will have to catch You to get the details on where to get that wreck. Slash marks on golden shields look very good! Thumbs up!

It's the new AoS terrain piece

First things first though, did some work on the huge building one of the guys brought to us. Still, a colossal amount of work to be done here.

Aaand, the last few days put some more paint of the fishkin fish tank decoration thing. Picking out the details, needs a wash and something else. Maybe a few highlights...

I don’t know, man, I don’t know...I (sort of) lost some of the motivation in the end stages. In fact, I swore to myself that this is the last piece of terrain I’ve painted. At least until I have x5 Custodian Sentinels/Guard and a Galatus dread fully painted. Heck, I calculated that I’ve painted over 20 terrain pieces over the last yeah, which brings me to about 2 pieces per month, thus consuming all my painting time.

Anyways, here it goes.

OK, so it seems there's some more terrain incoming...the damned xenos gateway :x

In the meantime, more work with Custodes! Picked out most of the details, even finished lining one of them. 4 more left and then it's final layering time...

Eh, guess what: I'm back into Zone Mortalis business. After sending those pieces back and looking at pretty much most of available, better and not-so-better known alternatives (Right Arm Labs does one as well), I decided that I simply can't live without it. Simply, because, it seems like only way I will be interested in playing Warhammer (30k) again. So the long term goal is to make the most pretty board, complete with dissection table(s), medicae bays, navy plane hangars and such.

So this time I decided to buy it piece by piece and just clean the heck out of each of them. Here you can see the rough condition in which it arrived. I already cut away most of the messy parts and removed some of the studio green stuff fillings to replace them with my own.

It's actually not that bad. Though I might need to use a hecking load of liquid greenstuff. And salvage one of those water filters for small beads... And to finally buy a heat gun, as the whole plate is warped.

I'm really liking how the ghost ship is coming out- the detail is terrific and the eerie green glowy wash thingy is highly effective- fantastic build!

Gold tones on the custodes are succulent as ever! The ghostly wreck is neat as well - it'll be nice to see some focus on minis more than terrain but you can't go wrong with it! There are far fewer terrain-painters than miniature painters so you should never feel like you're overdoing it.

Thanks <3 The ship has been finished for quite some time, I just forgot to post it here.

And the main reason I'm focusing on terrain is because no one else does. And we need it. Even though now we have enough to decently cover at least 4/5 4x6 tables

Soo...did some more work on Custodes... This is, actually, quite old pic, I tried painting tubings, but failed miserably. I then proceeded to cry over missed mold lines.

But then this beauty came in knocking. So I wiped my nose and was happy for about half a day.

But then I started painting Galatus...

Ordered a bunch of brownish paints... Will try spraying bases tomorrow. Bleh.

Well the ship is absolutely amazing, stunning work, and the gold on these Custy's is so beautiful and rich and deep. Brilliant bud, brilliant.

Having seen that wreck in person, I should say that while it is amazing, it tries too much to be a ghost and a wreck at once. Too much shine on that ghostly glowing wood. But this is and excellent piece of terrain!

Thanks!
Lucky me, I won’t have to paint the webway gate, so that’s more free time painting Custodes. This week I should receive more Army Painter tones (seriously, I want to spill GW washes into toilet after using those), and some blueish/leathery tones for power swords and gloves.

Combined with me wanting to wait for a better euro:gbp rate, I should have just about enough painted models for a first decent, yet small, game.

In the meantime, did more work on Galatus dread.

Those golds are looking legit! Nice work!

But I’m just not happy with them. At least with Sentinels, which I will have to buy a new squad and paint anew, most likely. I mean, just look at those derp eyes and the HIDEOUS mold line I missed! Gah...

The original paint scheme can be found on Salaise Figurine blog. It's just bright gold with glazes and inks, but my interpretation inverts shadows from the original.

It's here! For the second time

So far I've pulled out 2 pieces and they seem waaay better than last time. I hope the rest will the the same. There is, however, some obvious warpage, but a heat gun should fix that as boiling water is just not enough to penetrate. First game is next week, woo!

More paints arrived, moving on to painting leather..

So simple, yet so complicated.

Aaand, packed pretty much everything up. Though I will definitely add some extra tiles, so in the end there will be two of these boxes + some smaller ones for all the extra terrain features.

This whole box fits roughly 11 tiles. 13, or even more if counting the flat ones in. Still better than cardboard bawkses.
