Nice work JohnnyHell.

My Inquisitor in Termy armour is the original, but with the arms of the original Grey Knight minis, holding the Nemesis Great Sword.

He was very powerful in 2nd Ed.

I absolutely, utterly loath and despise the undermining mindset that custom, player-created characters are inherently weaker and less important than the canon one. I hate the "1rst founding chapters are special snowflake more important and powerful than others" for that reason too.
Those canon characters and chapters are supposed to be here as inspiration and examples of what an inquisitor/a chapter is. Not definite guideline that we should comply to and follow. Get your imagination working boys and girls, instead of acting like passive visitors in someone else story!!!

Two things about inquisitors:

1) Inquisitors in the rules are written much like Jedi: holy warriors with bizarre wargear and a vague but lofty position in military hierarchy. In the fluff, they're written like that, but also like a bunch of other archtypes: some are 007 style agents, some are basically Harry Potter Aurors, some are like the Federal Prosecutors who go after mafia bosses and corrupt politcians, etc. etc. As HBMC pointed out, it's a big tent.

2) the RT era terminator inquisitors are old, but in no way rare. I've come across easily a half dozen over the years, and I still own one fully painted, and parts of several more. It was a very common model, made well into 4th edition, with rules to match the whole way.

Thanks for reminding me. They're not rare at all, as I have a second one. That exact one, as it happens, with the (now gone) null rod. Completely forgot I had him.

Well it feels good to be vindicated.

So...... how are people feeling about the CA in WD? Is it good in your opinion? Worth getting? New or rehashing of old lore?

As I recall, the dude with the beard was the Inquisitor and the dude with the hood and psycannon was an Ordo Malleus Daemon Hunter.

Got my copy today. I like the fact you can take an Inquisitor without taking up a slot or losing Combat Doctrines. I also like the fact that you can have an Ordo Malleus Terminator, but there's no model for that? And why is a nemesis daemon hammer 2 points more than a thunder hammer when it has the same statline?

One extra point to add the word “Nemesis,” and one extra point to replace “thunder” with “Daemon.”

It represents the struggle of a career at GW.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

That leaked list of releases really was correct.

One of the things I thought dubious was the Made-To-Order Assassins. I mean, why bother re-releasing the ancient Assassin minis when they have plastic ones out?

And yet, there they are. Dunno why, but they're there.

Are we posting pictures of our Terminator Armour Inquisitors?! Count me in! This one I painted to accompany my Ultramarines army back in 2nd ed. I gave him a lightning claw instead of the power glove with digital lasers. Because of why not. Lightning claws are cool.

I imagine these guys will be much cheaper. Probably 15$ vs the $30 for plastic

I think these are even the worse versions of the metal ones. I think I still have the original vindicator...

Interestingly they're all the second release Assassins (not that there was much difference with the Culexus). I have that Vindicare, but never got the other three. Much preferred the original Eversor, although the Callidus is ok.

You can tell that they must be working really hard at GW HQ, because they obviously couldn't find the two minutes to photoshop out the chips on the cloak of the Inquisitor with book.

Is that a new paintjob for Kyrinov? It's pretty damn tasty.

Also, those daemonhost models should never have left the design stage. They seem to get worse the more I look at them. I've never understood why they fetch silly money on eBay. The one from Artel W (the Captive Unleashed) is so much better.

Saying yeah she (and other inquisitors) sometimes get caught in firefights without it is fine - Claiming that somehow Inqusitors should not have it as a OPTION is just trolling.

Poor show sir poor show

Oh, im not saying they SHOULDNT have it as an option, im merely putting forward some fluff based reasons why GW may have restricted PA to their Special Characters

Anyones made up character can be said to have just as much clout as the special characters of similar rank. Unless you're saying only the very few we know are of any account at all. As is, the game is over the course of a huge time line, plenty of time to have power armor made for them. I don't get why you would even care and this is probably my only comment in this thread but special characters should have unique things but not be just hands down better than a generic made character or magically have more pull to get what they want just because they are from an imagination not GWs. This is by far the strangest argument I've bothered to read. In a game driven by narrative so deeply, the only real limit is your imagination. So no, I would have to say let home made characters have access to all the goodies, just not the unique goodies that other characters say made specially for them.

It's almost as if the Artel designer saw the original Cherubael 54mm model and realised the majesty of it (I like Cherubael better. Never really saw it well painted though, even the official studio job kind of diminished the sculpt imo).
