Will they let me play in a gw if i use everything in a model gw except heads which would be pig iron.

At some tourneys you might run into problems (doubt it) but in casual play you should be fine, unless they were a douche.

Well one person here had a GW store manager tear off all the heads on his models (they were Pig Iron heads). I think you'll find that to be a 1-in-a-million style case, so otherwise I wouldn't worry.

Best way would be to simply not point it out. People often don't find what they're not looking for, so as long as the models are painted (ie. aren't grey plastic Cadians with shiny Pig Iron heads), they might go unnoticed.

That manager would be on the ground the second he got the first head off. Thats baseball bat worthy.

I can understand it being non gw product in store, but the guy: 1) bought the cadians already 2) GW doesnt sell extra heads in every fashion 3) GW has a policy that lets you take non GW stuff as long as the model consists of a majority of GW parts.

And even then, that's destruction of property. He'd HAVE to be fired.

No one is going to give you any static for playing a game. If they do, they arn't worth wasting your time with anyway, and Heads will probibly be the last reason why they act like clowns to you.

I don't think he said the employee actually ripped the heads off, just that he threatened to if he showed up with them in the store.

Still really stupid either way.

You often hear this myth of employees pulling heads off or smashing fake minis but I reckon they are all BS.

It would be illegal to damage them in anyway, counterfeit, non GW or whatever.

Well, one thing that is true though, is that back in the day (not sure if this is still the case) casts of GW stuff could be destroyed then-and-there if you were idiotic enough to bring them to a GW store, and let a staffer pick them up.

So of course, some kid shows up with these really well painted tyranids that "his dad had bought for him in hong kong" and since the paint jobs were really excellent, the kid had actually painted them, as soon as I picked up the lictor I realized it was a cast, it was no heavier than a plastic warrior. I took him outside the store and let him know that we could have wrecked the casts, but I instead let him use some of my own Nid stuff for the event that day (some mega battle, nids vs marines) He had no idea, and I'm sure even the dad didnt know, probably just was on a business trip and saw "those space aliens my kid paints" for cheap and picked em up for him. lol I think I even told him to rebase them on really heavy bases so no one else would know

Just one more reason you shouldn't let anyone else touch your minis

Actually no, that would still be illegal. Destroying someones property is still Destroying someones property.

The policy as of 2009 was if it was suspected fake, try and get the info of where it came from and who owned it and turn it over to legal. The managers were to notify Regional Managers who would get the details and usually have the manager inform the person that those minis couldn't be used in the store.

Pig iron heads wouldn't have been a problem, I can think of only one regional manager at the time who would have freaked out about it.

If someone advocated non GW products or was disruptive and had models that were not GW the policy was to ask them to leave the store and not return with non-GW or non scratch built products.

But generally if the models were 60% GW there was never an issue. Unless they were indecent.

I had to eventually ban a Slannaesh player who kept brining his army with sculpted penises on everything and used as weapons and models engaged in graphic sex acts into the family friendly stores.

Whether they're GW or not, 1. Why would anyone destroy the models, and 2. What gives anyone the right to destroy the models.
Could you imagine going to game with your army and next thing you know people are stomping on your models? That's how people get shot.

Hey just saying, if they were recasts, they were to be destroyed is what I had heard at the time... mind you this was back ('04) when I was just a red shirt, not later on when I became a black shirt where it never came up at all.
