Now if some people havn't heard of Malal before he was a renegade chaos god who was in early editions of 40K and was feared by the other chaos gods as much as the Imperuim of man.

The reason I've brought this up is that if anyone knows whether GW take Malal seriously anymore is it history?

I know that had some copyright issuses with some comic book but is Malal still in 40K or has been removed from 40K history records?

That doesn't stop GW in the least. They are still in a protracted fight with Michael Moorecock regarding the symbol of chaos they stole.

Or perhaps they are simply waiting until they come up with some actual figures that the Malal style. As far as I know Malal is still in the history, but it just isn't mentioned by GW much. Like I said, perhaps they are waiting until they come up with some "Malal lesser and greater demons" and/or even some Mala devoted CSM's. That would be cool.

Well from what a red shirt told me Malal came into existance when a sub-contracted company By GW producing graphic novels did some 40k and they created Malal.
Needless to say hos followers have a really good colour scheme

Their is one, The Sons of Malice. They have at least one short story. they are pretty badass

In most Malal threads, someone says that the copyright was by Malal's creator and not GW, so when the creator left GW, he took it with him. GW can't use this IP since then and makes sure, they own as much IP as they can.

Couldn't GW just make a rip-off of the Malal.

They could just rename Malal to something similar.

If Malal isnt in the current Chaos Codex then for now they dont exist. GW tends to let various historys from years ago fade away (Squats?). I doubt they will bring it back as the 4 chaos gods tend to work rather well as is without adding another, this would cause a little.. chaos?

Malal is against the other chaos gods so it shouldn't effect chaos players.

Malal isn't so much 'against' the other Chaos gods, so much as he represents self destruction and inner strife. And being Chaos himself, he's driven to harm Chaos.

Yeah, Malal really does add that "You can't get ahead for trying" aspect to the fight against Chaos. Of course, that was back when minor Chaos gods were more emphasized in the background and "Yeah, there's a god for that" sounded better.

My guess is that Malal became "Chaos Undivided."

There is that possibility, however, I thought chaos undivided was all of chaos under one banner - which is really the opposite of Malal.

Unless of course, by making them join forces, he is preventing any particular God from gaining a foothold against the others.

Too bad really would be cool if Malal was still used by GW might have been pretty awesome to see if they made a codex and minitures for them.
