Just received a newsletter from GW listing new(?) metallic IG storm troopers and something Space Marinish called White Scars.
I remember seeing the storm troopers in planetstrike but was told they were the old models. Personally, I'll continue using the Kasrkins since I think these new ones look like crap. Are they new or just refurbished old ones?

What really struck a nerve though was White Scar Space Marines. Perhaps I'm just not that read up on Space Marines, but I haven't heard about them before. Are they in the codex or is there a new chapter coming?

Those Storm Troopers are not new. They are the metals from the previous generation, before the current Cadian-themed Kasrkins were released. The original sculpts included two Sgts, 1 each of plasma, melta, flamer and grenade launcher, and I believe 4 other hellgun poses.

White Scars are pretty well known... they're a first founding chapter after all.

They're primarily a raiding force, using lots of bikes and rhinos. Mostly the bikes.

They're also the "asian" Space Marines. The Khan was their primarch and they are currently (I think) led by Kor'sarro Khan, a special character in C:SM.

Khan's a Captain, not the Chapter Master.

I particularly enjoy that the Space Marine biker squad is $45 while the White Scars one is $41. You lose out on some metal torsos with special weapons for some really kickass Mongol-themed bits, and it's somehow cheaper.

Do you guys think a repackage of ST's is a definate no to there being plastic ones on the way or are they just trying to use up old stock?

I don't think its even a re-package. Could be my memory playing tricks on me, but they always used to come like that.

This week we've added a host of new Imperial Guard and Space Marine packs to the range, two of which you can see below.

They've been since the new direct-style bitz service started. I bought the White Scar Commander months ago.

I think they mean that they've made the Scars commander and bike squad come packaged with the original plastics, so you don't have to but two seperate sets H'.

Well if you go to the actual site you will see this: "As well as the release of the catalogue we have also taken this opportunity to re-format some of the existing Available to Order range to make it easier for you to collect and build the formations or squads that you want. Again, if you add them to your cart today we will ship them out to you on Monday."

And as far as the newsletter is concerned It does not say that these are new models, it says that these are new models added to "the available to order range". That is to say that you can now direct order them through the regular Armies section on the GW site and not through the Collectors section(where they were before).

THat stops me from being disappointed?

They've stopped shipping Kasrkin out (At least that's what my FLGS said) so couldn't this have waited until we see plastic badasses? Especially since these old ST's aren't really all that great in looks.

I don't think we'll see plastic stormtroopers for a long while. The only reason they keep getting rumored is based on endless wishlisting from Warseer.

Actually, I think they keep getting rumoured because of that one picture of them WIP.
