So two weeks from now I will be getting a full sleeve purity seal. It is going to have a slightly religious knights Templar theme to it. But in order to keep it unique I have added some other qualities from 40k, Slight in reference to it, but definitely noticeable to any 40k player.
Any hoot, just curious to see if anyone here has a 40k or fantasy referenced tattoo.

I always took the cautious approach to tattoos: I want one, but I don't want it to look dumb. So when I find one, I draw/find a design for it, date it, and put it into a book. Periodically I take it out and look at them. If I see a design in there that looks stupid, I take it out. If I ever have a design which has been in the book for ten years, I will take it out and get the tattoo. Hasn't happened yet, BUT, I have a copy of the Watcher symbol from Highlander (the TV series) which is dated 7/19/02. So...little over two years to go.

My tats,'cept for a valknut (which isn't very adaptable) are of my own design, even an Ouroboros I have is one I drew (admittedly my first one was done on a drunken bout and the following day I was affected enough to go along with it and get it inked)

I have the eye of chaos as it appeared on the back of the old Adeptus Titanicus rulebook... or was it the Space Marine book, anyway, it's across my back, about 14 inches across by 12 high. Surrounded by black flames/rips in space. Required a lot of filling and hurt like a bastard. 8hours under the gun.
Had it done when I turned 18.

Although not 40k based, this is my rt forearm. She is my version of a Celtic Valkerie named Morrigan. I have yet to incorporate her general 'third face', but that s part of the next tattoo I think. She is highly modified to my liking with latin script underneath stating 'only god shall judge me.' She is also carrying twin tonfa lightsabers, need some glow and colouring but again with the next inking. about 2.5 hours under the gun.

I've been thinking about having "a mind without purpose will walk in dark places" on my back, in a suitable font. I like it because a: I think its a pretty cool quote from Ravenor and b: because I think its true, not in a weird il turn into a mutant 40k way, but if I hadn't set a goal for myself in life I would still be stumbling around doing nothing.
I hover between thinking its cool and not, my wife thinks it would look good but I can't decide if shes just messing with me .

I'm super cautious about tattoo's. It took me 9 years from 18 to decide on my first, a Bass Clef in the center of my chest, which I decided on based on 17 years of playing bass and varous connotations of bass, foundation, etc. It's taken me another two to decide on my next, my wife's name on my forearm (coming this winter).
I will say that I have seen a few cool gaming related tatoos, but they are in the minority, and I just can't see anything from 40k that truely reflects me enough to have permanently on my skin.

I've always wanted an Omega symbol on my right shoulder but two things stopped me.
Firstly, I'm a wuss, so I know that I'd end up jumping up from the needle gun just after they touched it against my arm and I'd end up with a 2mm line that would always mock my girlyness!
Secondly...I never intend to give up playing 40k again, and when the next GF comes along I don't want to have to explain why the symbol on my Ultrasmurfs army matches the one on my arm...no relationship can survive that...unless she plays 40k too, but from what I can tell, there are only about four women in the world who play this and are single...and I've never met one!

I m not sure Jihadnik,Tats only really hurt if you get them in some really nervbound sensitive part, for example near or under the armpit and even then it doesnt hurt that much
I guess maybe the face or neck or other clusterfeth of nerves could also hurt a bit more...But arms, chest or leg tats are pretty unhurting...

Yeah, El Gostro, that's what everyone I've ever met says about getting a tattoo, and I can understand that, but I can still imagine that its a needle being shoved repeatedly in my arm at high speed...I think you underestimate my tolerance for pain! I think when it comes to 40k tattoos that we all have to remember the guy who had the aquila and got dumped because of it.
Although that was plain stupid ignorance on the girlfriend's part.

I don't believe in them at all:
1) Anything you so strongly believe in that you feel the need to be tattooed to your body seems unnecessarily redundant. People can tell your beliefs about it just by talking with you.
2) I believe the human body is a temple and a work of art when taken care of properly. Tattoos would only taint this.
Aside from those two beliefs, there are some cool ideas in this thread, I like the Ravenor quote. But if I were ever to get a tattoo, I wouldn't be able to resist doing one as a joke. Like a handlebar shaped mustache over my upper lip. Or one that says "Unemployment Line" around my elbow.
