Ahem, you are talking about the house up on the hill just outside the sanc wall near Iffymoos? if so that is mine, as evidenced by the 3 signs and 1 sign at sanc.

The floating island with the water coming off it into a cup and the stone building is mine. I haven't started renovation of it and might consider resale.

Thanks for the help cheesepie. Only have the basement, third floor, and roof to deal with now, along with the furnishing (chests, crafting tables, furnaces) for the other rooms in my cabin.

Now what would be really cool is if we made a second server but using the planetoids map generator!

What happened to the idea about making a new dakka town with everyone being given a set area to build a house in?

definately not. Diamond is SO easy to get in planetoids. Took me half a day to get full diamond.

Well that could still be done in the existing server anyway, just create a huge set of roads, public transportation and maybe a sewer system (had a house with running water and drains once, much better than an incinerator if there's tons of wood as well as providing an easy to use tunnel system in case escape is required). Then hand out plots of land. Probably build a tower with apartments in it for the new players to stay while they're putting their places together. Problem is though it probably restricts creativity somewhat.

Though when I'm done with exams and assignments and able to log in again I'd be happy to help if everyone decides to do it.

Can someone give me a link to a tutorial to download planetoids for mac and set it up as i really want to play it!!!!!!!

I'd be happy to try and make a system to sort out this mess of a server, really thats whats starting to happen now....get out of dakkatown. Maybe move the spawn slightly out of dakkatown, just so that people are encouraged to start further afield.

The i dea of my stonghold was to encourage people to do just that and make them realize the sanc is not needed really.

but...then your stronghold would basically be a sanc... nothing is really NEEDED in minecraft, because there isn't a goal to get. That's part of the fun.

Okay, I reflooded my canal, after 2 warnings left on this thread. I have added a LADDER and a sign to my floating house. and I have unblocked my sanc entrance.

There's another griefer on the server methinks.

some smart guy keeps wanting to destroy the dirt roof of my underwater canal, smashing the glass off my aquarium and tring to block off the tunnel to gooda's.

right, i finally found my inn again, so its back in business, drop in if you need food, its behind the bar in a chest.

The canal is near my fort, and was NOT underwater at all. in fact bisecting the two halves of the canal, which renders my canal useless. I may have inadvertently blocked Gooda's tunnel, but again I had warnings on this thread. So that wasn't trolling. I asked twice to either dig deeper, or unblock the canal. The glass wasn't me either.

Edit: twas Josh's house tunnel. Therefore not Gooda. I don't know anything about Gooda's tunnel.

Hey everyone. I visited the server and it looks cool. Kinda messy, but cool. i'm looking for a few new guys like me to start building something a bit further away. All the area around the spam point is kinda overpopulated. I don't like mining and building alone (that's why I came to this server).

So who wants to start building a nice stronghold of our own a bit away from this messy town?

I just figured out how to finish the Spleef arena whilst keeping as close to the game as possible and to ensure it doesn't burn down again.

Snow blocks (rather slow I know. ), and people use wood shovels to play it. I'm mentioning it because it will still be a while before I can get the time to log back on and work on anything properly (net comes back in a week, then exams at the same time as a few assignments -.- ). But, when I can I intend to build a snow base so I'll be able to keep the arena stocked and running fine. Seems easier to do so than hunting wool all the time and if a creeper gets in there it doesn't wreck everything for ages.

me and laodamia have started building an unofficial dakkatown II kind of thing, but with less people.
it's inside a hill with one entrance, off the road to wolf's cabin.
each person will get this much space (length and width), with around 20 blocks of headroom.
so we know how much to mine, please post if you want an area.

Nice a one way door trap with obsidian walls. Are all the walls obsidian like a vault or just the front? Kind of obvious, but looks fun when it works.

Also count me in for the UDT2, but don't expect me too soon.

I'm currently experimenting in singleplayer in the short break I have at the moment (would come while net is capped ) with some light sensor thing someone discovered, well after all the snow stuff (I have a tower built entirely out of snow with lava lighting and not melting so cheap alternative to white wool without the ability to burn).

Light sensor thing is kind of interesting, it involves mushrooms and flowers and using them as the sensor. Guess you could use them to make some sort of defense system. Any interested can read about it here, I haven't started working with it yet so no idea how good it is, but I guess it could let you make a time based flood gate or something.

The Seed WINNING also appears to be good, found easily 8 diamond, 20 gold and 80 something iron in about an hour and there was roughly 50 coal all above ground at my spawn point which included some light gravel rain (a decent amount of spires there), a cave already shaped like a house (just needed some windows ), a small lava fall and a dungeon under the cave (there was an entrance to the cave with the dungeon and it was a short 30 second walk from the surface to it). Unfortunately I got killed by a bunch of spiders while hunting for string and now it won't respawn, so I have to wait for a fix for whatever error it was with the placement of the bed (had its right side against a wall).
