Some good marines here Especially like the HQ choices and Terminators.

The Shade of colour isnt that good for the blood ravens... But overall GREAT!!

@ Stephen Bond - well actually i spray them black, with the space hulk terminators they already came sprayed and glued together and i didnt think it was a good diea to undercoat them again, cheers however mate.

@ Meriandoc - Well im not as impressed with the terminator lib, i think i might actually just go and strip him down and start again, cheers for the feedback

Very nice to see such a well painted force, this may seem like knit-picking but after investing so much time, money and effort into the force, push the boat out with the bases. Bases are often neglected but changing from grass and gravel to resin or custom built cork ones makes all the difference. Bases can attract the eye to focal points on the miniatures and tell a story. Rather than just being generic Blood Ravens Force liberating world 'X' from Enemy 'Y' they become a completely unique force. Still a good standard of work though.

Yeah i can see exactly what you saying, i think i will look into that in the very future actually! After looking at the other Ravens thread i have been inspired to make a Master of the Chapter from Calgar however i think im going to try and convert the powerfists into lightning claws (i dont use special characters very often).

I think i also need to find myself a viable way of fitting my powered armoured lib into the force, hmmm...

But if you're converting a chapter master, consider first playing DoW2 CR. While many don't consider it as actual fluff, I do (not in gameplay sense, in storyline sense).

If you haven't played it, then the ravens' chapter master is basically Mephiston and Tigurius rolled into one. Might go write some special rules for him now..

Yeah i remember the fluff from DoW2, i think i will set my army after those events it would certainly be interesting to see some rules for that guy and it could really be a interesting model to have ago at.

I guess i could use mephiston if i choose to use the blood angels codex rather than the standard codex, librarian dreads do seem like something that Ravens would have a few of.... hmm...

Although most probably say fluff overides game, but I'd take it as the books take place after the DoW 2 series, I mean, who wouldn't want Gabby as chapter master?

hmm, so many ideas :( i feel like a kid in a candy ship, gabby would look awesome in terminator armour and i think calgar is a fitting model... hmm.. Its obvious even from the game however that the librarian isnt going to remain chapter master all that long!

Mabey you could paint Azariah kyras with an evil look or somthing, that would be nice

Yeah but the Calgar model looks awesome and i have always wanted to use that model for something!




here we go update on the scouts, not far from done now, all i have to do really is highlight the black, paint the metal, highlight the leather and paint the gloves on the heavy bolter, shouldnt take me to long

It'll take a lot of work.. the amount of smurf iconography on that model is insane... and get rid of that head.

Yeah i know but it will be so worth it! I certainly will get rid of that headm i might juse a terminator helmet like i have seen done before I also wanted to make a thousand sons lord of of him, how cool woudl that look!

I thought more like the helmet thats one the chaos sorcerer with sword/model that DOW and DOW2 sorcerer is based on.

The novels by C.S. Goto are as far as you can go in the 40k millenium without it becoming Peter Pan.
The thing about Gabriel being Chapter Master is a mistake from UK version of White Dwarf, all other games/novels/fluff refers him as Captain.

Almost forgot a thing, the novels takes place at the same time as the games.

Well after Dawn of War 2: #3 comes out, Gabby WILL be the chapter master. Unless.. they ruin it with some bullcrap about Gabby dying or your character becoming chappymasty.

Yeah i think the beloved <Generic>player carachter will be chapter master to make a "new" gaming experience (just my thoughts)
But yeah the calgar to gabby idea is good. id give him one of your awesome combi bolta plasma dudey guns and the patented daemonhammer (it basically makes gabby who he is)

There is no "he will" in this, it is "he may become chapter master if he manages to defeat Azariah Kyras"! No matter what fans say, nothing is certain.
But if we go by codex standard, the one to assume command over the chapter after the chapter master & chief librarian would be defeated, would be Apollo Diomedes, captain of the honor guards or the captain of the first company depending. (Or was it the chief Chaplin before that?)

But of course, since it's all fictional, he can do whatever he wants, but I'm just saying.
