Have you considered an airbrush bud? You pump out work at a crazy speed, but an airbrush would take care of base coating and blending (especially on marines!) much much quicker and a great many dakka-ites have had some serious success with them.

I love what you do with the reflective sheen on your power weapons, nice work. It's good to see new techniques (or old ones really) used effectiely, rather than just the same old NMM sang guard everywhere!

Cheers mate, thats certainly something I would like to invest in the near future how money is a bit tight, glad to hear you like the power weapons! It was a bit if a experiment which I think works better on swords. At some point I need to dig my WoC out of the carry case and finish them off, they have been sitting in the case since I went to winter war in Jan.

I had an email from the client I am county the table ultramarines for and he seems happy enough, man if I had a air brush I would have them finished by now :(

The ultras are looking blooming good in my opinion, after all they are only table top right?

If you are looking into airbrushes then you should check out the AS-186 compressor (£69.33) with the BD-130 or BD-132 airbrush (19.92). It gives you a simple set up for less than £100 once you add in the hoses.

Cheers guys, when I have my proper net up and running I will post the finished pictures (using my mob). Just have to finish off the last bits, just a shame I didn't have some stormbolters to make the vets look more like sternguard. Yeah they are only table top standard /£2 a pop job.

I will certainly look into that gun, atm having to support me and mot girlfriend through painting models :(

Right finally have my proper internet up and running and plenty of updates to post!

First off is the Ultramarine commission which I finished, again it is only done to table top standard and using transfers ( I don't do freehand for £2 a model).




















Next Commission I started on is some storm vermin and some clanrat banners.



Last of all is my Harry the Hammer I decided to repaint

Got any plans for the bits that came to make Harry's base?

Not 100% sure, If i remake my daemon prince made from a Balrog then I think i will use it for his base, if not then I might use it as a unit filler for my skeleton warriors.

I just want to thank itsonlyme for painting my Ultramarines. He has kept in contact throughout the entire process and I am very happy with the finishing result.
I definitely reccomend his painting service.

Well here’s a update on the painting, first up is a update on the Skaven

Stormvermin




Champion was originally a demo model, client sent it back with the commission, they all done to slightly above table top (better skin basically), I redid the blood effect for him which he had added afterwards, client is also going to base them.

Clanrat Standards



Again the based one was a demo model sent back to remind me how I had originally painted everything, painted to same standard as the Stormvermin, I am happy enough with them and hopefully my client will be, hopefully in the next week or so I should be receiving some more skaven to paint, a unit of clanrats and a Greysheer, next up commission wise is the ironclad dreadnought and stormraven which is all Ultramarine.

Now for some of my own bits.

Chosen Chaos Warriors



Well here is the start of my Tzeentch unit I am taking to the next tournament, only another 9 to paint (well and finish these off obviously), after that I have 3 chaos trolls (well old stone trolls) and a warshrine to paint (finally!).

Well I got something in the post this morning so I decided I wanted to have ago at starting my new BSB, heres what I have done so far, obviously its still WIP and need to decide what kind of bases I will be using for it and my Tzeentch Chosen but i am happy with it looking so far.

Wel here is a update on the BSB, it was suggested to me that I put blood on the spikes on the banner with some trophies (I am really liking this idea), anyways I think he is coming along nicely and is a improvement on the old model (which I might have to stick on ebay!)

Here's some more pictures, first is a update on the BSB, all I have done is change the base, I think I am going to go with skull bases on the unit of chosen with the BSB have the more impressive looking one




Next is the Chaos sorcerer, just a base change however i am thinking I might repaint the robe and make him look like a Tzeentch guy as I think he might fit with the theme of the army better than the bird head guy




Next i have finally started to paint the warshrine (I was working on this while I was in GW on sunday waiting for a game)

Love the freehand on the banner and the "glow" effect on the eyes. I really look forward to seeing the warshrine finished. It just looks so beefy and solid!

Cheers mate! I'm really not all that happy with how the banner turned out, I'm going to redo it but first I have a ultramarine Ironclade and stormraven to finish!

An Ultramarine Stormraven? Or is that for the BA commission?

Yeah a Ultramarine stormraven, I know i was given the impression by local staff it was going to be made avaible to all chapters, I don't know if that is the case but my client advance ordered it (liam how posted in here earlier). I would assume it would be made avaible to all chapters just as the Crusader was when it first came out, originally that was Black Templar only and then WD released the rules making it a 0-1 choice for other chapters, sadly I havent bought a WD in years.

That banner i mightily impressive. I can see what you mean about missing something.

I think it may be as simple as the banner itself is not complete on the model (missing th bottom left in the picture). Therefore your design seems a tad high as it would leave such a large section on the blank at the bottom. Maybe put some writing at the bottom that appears to have been started in the"missing section".

Nice work on the Ironclad, especially the white, which has come out brilliantly!

@ taffiarti - Thanks mate, on the brightside it does look better than the MK1 banner, I think what i will do to fill in space is paint various chaos runes over the banner, should be interesting, after that I just need to tweak the face.

@ Darkvoidof40k - cheers mate, hopefully I can get these finished today or tomorrow and get started on the DE, hopefully wont take to long.

Hi Itsonlyme great stuff and congrats on your commision success. Just a couple questions:
Your recent models of the Chaos Battle standard bearer and the one named harry; are they games day minis? Or are they conversions?

Cheers Perkustin, the BSB is the Avatars of war chaos lord (which is slightly converted) and harry is a limited edition model released by GW called harry the hammer, you can usually find him ebay.

I like the Dragon Ogre conversions, well done! Makes me think about how I would do great weapon wielding Drogres. Bestigors?

@ Moltar - cheers! well once I finished off the halberd warriors I will get the warshrine finished, after that all I have to really do is the dragon ogres and then do the glow effect on the on the HW+SH warriors, all this has to be done by the 14th as well as painting a random bit of terrain, I also think when I get back from the SCGT I will go back and redo certain things like some of the horns and what not.

@ Da Boss - Cheers, what you could do is use the same upper bodies and then use the marauder flail armies and just swap the top of the weapons for a axe, mace head, what no doubt be cheaper if you have marauders or marauder horsemen depending on what weapons you gave them.
