Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks!

So I run the Pink Waaaugh!

My Step by step guide to making Rokkit Buggies.

The famous nobmobile:

Hahaha....RAWR!

And...700+ other pictures in my gallery, mostly related to battle reports.

And after deciding to cap out the Pink Waaaugh! with a centerpiece, I commissioned Steve from ThirdFateCreations (Atropos here on Dakka) to make me a pimping ride for Ghazghkull. Its almost done, and here's the WIP:

I am *VERY* excited.

Am I gonna have to ave wordz wiv youz! pink is not an ork color, I would say they do look very fetching for overgrown Grots (cause no ork would wear pink) the only critisism i would have is that you pink looks a little flat, maybe a wash in the recesses and maybe a slightly brighter neon pink for highlights?

My wife does the painting, and she likes bold, distinct colors. We have washes, but she chooses not to shade or highlight because it detracts from the way she wants them to look. You've done it now, she sees me posting this and is coming this way to chew you out.

Hrm.

MY orks wear pink. Who's to say you're right and I'm wrong?

I like "flat". As Dash pointed out, painting "rules" are in the eye of the beholder, much like all art is. It's subjective, like all opinions. I happen to like bright bold colors and to wash them would make them look less so. My orks wash their clothes after their bloody battles so they always look fresh and clean for the next one. They are very concerned with germs and are a little OCD. Nothing weathered in my army, except maybe some trukk tires or something.

Sorry if that goes against the norm (whatever that is) but it's what I like.

It's a truly pink ork. Love the designs on the vehicles. I may have to do something similar for my pink orks.

Up in your base, killin' all your doods.

That Battlewagon looks freaking awesome.

Normally I'd say its too fancy for Orks, but in this case of Pink Orks I approve.

You picked a good man/woman to do the battlewagon.

Pink flames = win.

Holy crap, I don't know what you're paying for that commission, but I'm going to go ahead and say that it's worth it! That is a seriously rockin' battle wagon.

I like the pink on the original nob mobile because it's broken up a bit. The orks just look...1/2 finished with the flat coat of paint (But I think I made the same comment before when you posted your guys up). Still awesome, but I guess it's an aesthetic difference your wife and I have.

The funny thing is, if I ever go to a large Warhammer Event, you'll probably be the only person I "know" because I'd definitely recognize your army!!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

I get that a lot. People walk up to me with and say, "Are you Dashofpepper?" I also get "Are you the guy from Dakka with the pink orks?" That's why I have a Dashofpepper shirt now. Its got a big old picture of my avatar on it, and is titled "Dashofpepper"

And it has some funny stuff on it besides. D to the ORK!

That is some sweet work. I think it's one of Atropos' best paint jobs.

Great work man. I'd for sure face that ork army and enjoy every minute of it.

I have to agree. I understand if you want the model to appear more "clean" and don't want to use a wash, but some highlights would make the Nobs' wagon and the pink Boyz come to life a bit. A few highlights and outlines can make a good paintjob into a great one.

Atropos is amazing, by the way. That commission piece is really well painted, though the pink flames make me wish I was looking at a KSons Land Raider.
