Down to the last four, I d like to know which team you see in the finals and who wins it.

We got:

game 1:

Netherlands vs Uruguay

game 2 :
Germany vs Spain

game 3:

Winner of 1 vs winner of 2.

My loyalty still lies with Spain but I fear that Germany is just going to steamroll them and then whoever wins in the Uruguay/Netherlands game.

Germany to win. But I do hope Uruguay beat the dutch to spare any chance the final becomes a stubborn old borefest. Nothing exciting about how the netherlands are playing, whtehr it works or not. What happened to your beloved "total football"?

The German beat us sometime ago. The Spanish beat us a little while ago. Our game with the Dutch was horrible, in 2006 (if I'm not mistaken).

So, Urugay all the way! (Before that, I was cheering for Argentina and Paraguay (Ah, Larissa, Larissa!) )

EDIT: Forgot to vote (Germany, obviously - the way they totalled Argentina was scary) - Serves Maradona right for not calling Lucho.

I said Spain before the tourney started, but watching the limp home against Paraguay and then seeing Germany thrashing Argentina I don't see Spain winning. Germany looked shaky at the back at times even against England and were still letting crosses into the box unopposed but I don't think Spain have the discipline to keep trying to break the back 6 over and over without being caught on the (fantastic) German break. Netherlands should walk Uruguay, but stranger things have happened. Holland-Germany should be a great final.

IMHO, the problem with some teams like Spain and Portugal is that they don't really shine unless playing against a "stronger" opponent.

Well you've got a point here, it wasn't really that exciting to look at the dutch team play till the quarterfinals. But keep in mind that we played some great football across the years, but NEVER won anything since 1988. While everybody would like to play "total football', it just is not possible to achieve something with just playing great soccer! Do you remember how Inter won the Champions League this year?

However, the match against Brazil was so exciting and I personally thought they played great the second half!

So Holland for the win ofcourse!

I am really holding out for Netherlands to win as I will scoop a tenner in the office sweepstake if they do, but on current form Germany look like the strongest team there. Uraguay have had an easy route to the semi's and Spain just don't look like winners to me.

Ten quid? sounds like a piss poor office sweepstake. Ours wins sixty quid for first place. But I drew Italy. :(

I'm fully expecting Germany to win tomorrow. Uruguay did well this tournament and I hope Forlan gets something from this season. But they didn't deserve to be there anyway after the ghana second goalkeeper incident.

The referee was a cheat, giving cards whenever a Spanish player said "Ouch!". But when we got tackled and hit he didn; t do anything...

The Dutch tried to kick Spain out of the game - they were very lucky to go into half-time with 11 players.

Spain fully deserved their win, and the Dutch players (and fans, it would seem...) didn't really take their defeat with much dignity.

Well done Spain.

Dunno, the slo-mo seemed clear. The netherlands got the lead in collecting cards there at the whole event.

Didn't follow the whole game, taking peeks was enough pain.
