I believe if enough interest is shown in the Chaos Dwarfs then there is a good chance that Games Workshop might begin work on a new Chaos Dwarf army book and miniatures line.

So please sign the petition, every signature helps and when we reach our target it shall be sent to Games Workshop and they shall see all your signatures telling them why they should bring Chaos Dwarfs back and how big a fanbase they have

Thank you

James Cooke

There is a typo in the thread title....

EDIT: Also there are dozens of spelling errors on the actual petition, now I'm looking at it. I don't mean to be picky but you need to be as professional as possible when dealing with a company like GW.

You'd be wrong then.

I don't mean to take a crap all over the thread, but seriously, this isn't going to do jack. These petitions never work, everyone just ignores them and GW is no different. Even if 10,000 nerds really, really want Chaos Dwarves it's not going to mean anything to GW.

The only thing that would matter to GW is money. If they can see players buying tons of "evil dwarves" then they'll do something to get themselves a piece of the pie. So if you want GW to make Chaos Dwarves, start buying from the independent guys. Like, a lot.

First of all, I commend your focus and passion for your goal.

But...

Why is this in at least two sections of Dakka???

Do you think GW will actually listen???
They didn't listen when we asked for Squats to return, they've ignored us for twelve years in regards to a new DE codex, they never really listen to us ever.

Good Luck to you.

Should have bought more chaos dwarves.. Then they wouldnt have been removed. I imagine they were the worst selling army in 5th so they got regulated to the very back in 6th..then finally dropped totally in 8th

If 10,000 'nerds' sign this petition it shows there's 10,000 Chaos Dwarf customers, most of whom would probably buy more than one

@Mr. Burning they so still sell a few Dogs of War and Elementals at the site. And if no one plays them how do you explain Chaos Dwarfs Online Forums lol

Until then you can still buy the old miniatures on ebay UK for a price and play them with the old Ravening Hordes list, the new GT Indy list or, as I do it, counting as "Warriors of Chaos".

Well two points. Firstly as others have said, GW don't give a monkeys about petitions. They recently attacked enough fan sites to prove that their customers opinions are not particularly valued, only profit. And I don't think you will generate that much interest. Secondly I think there was talk a while back of a Fantasy version of Forgeworld doing a line of Chaos Dwarves.

Sad to see them relegated to the vastly expensive resin side of production but at least they will be back in the game. eBay is a source of old figures but Chaos Dwarves are so costly to collect resin might not be so bad.

Misconception. People who sign petitions aren't always going to buy the product. People sign it because it's free, and there's no commitment (say a non-refundable prepay) to purchase.

A) As many other people in this thread pointed out, online petitions never work.
B) Do we really want Chaos Dwarfs back? I don't know much about WFB fluff but the models look downright silly. Maybe if they were revamped significantly.

If you are done with insulting a model range that has a huge fan followship after all those years and an active community (see e.g. http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/ and their conversion rich fanzine http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/webzine.php ), let me point out that their Babylon/Assur-themed background is quite rich and convincing. Have a look at the new GT Indy army book on Chaos Dwarfs ( http://www.filedropper.com/fdwarfsofchaos_1 ) to get an idea of the modelling potential, the background, the fan art and active enthusiams that this army still creates. Evil dwarfs are a common element of most Fantasy settings, including D&D and WoW, and are going back to Germanic mythology, e.g. the Nibelungen Saga. So they deserve their place in the Warhammer world like all other races. Good thing that Chaos Dwarfs still have fans among the GW design staff and that they will be one focus of the upcoming "Fantasy Forge World" model range.

And they have been revamped without becoming emo dwarfs, ever heard of the Hellcannon?

And the two pictures in the post above show how the BigHat Chaos Dwarfs can honestly look amazing with a little effort, there is a huge fanbase for these models, much bigger than any Squat or Praetorian fanbase I've ever seen and real potential

Not to get off topic but I didn't know Chaos dwarves were dropped in 8th? I kinda figured they were being treated like Dark Eldar are. I had hopes that since Dark eldar are being brought back that they would also bring back chaos dwarves as well.

I haven't even begun to insult them. You'll know when that happens. They certainly deserve it, but it has not yet begun.

let me point out that their Babylon/Assur-themed background is quite rich and convincing.

Indeed. Now lets make them not dwarves.

D&D and WoW contain everything ever. Those aren't good examples. There are few convincing or interesting fantasy setting (WoW and generic D&D are certainly neither) that use dwarves as much other than a solitary mining race thats on the decline.

So they deserve their place in the Warhammer world like all other races.

Certainly. They are a part of it's fluff, so in theory they deserve representation. Considering that they still haven't created an army for Cathay (the largest human empire on the planet) or nippon (the largest trading hub on the planet) or araby (The largest producer of scimitars on the planet) the chaos dwarves (the largest hats on the planet) are pretty low on that totem pole.

Good thing that Chaos Dwarfs still have fans among the GW design staff and that they will be one focus of the upcoming "Fantasy Forge World" model range.

Indeed.

A seldom point and laugh at people's naivety, but this time I'll make an exception. This idea is ludicrous to the point of absurdity. If Games Workshop cared one whit about their fanbase's opinions, it'd still be sad and futile.

Murdock129 wrote:And the two pictures in the post above show how the BigHat Chaos Dwarfs can honestly look amazing with a little effort, there is a huge fanbase for these models, much bigger than any Squat or Praetorian fanbase I've ever seen and real potential

That's because Squat and Praetorian players have moved on. We know they're never going to make any more, and whether we like it or not, that's never going to change.

In closing, here's a word of wisdom to the Chaos Dwarf players: grow up.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I'm afraid a petition will do zero, nada, nowt, zilch, bugger all.

Forgeworld have been hiring for a fantasy department for a little while now and Chaos Dwarfs are the first intended project,
as it will be their first project and the team are not all together yet, it's going to take awhile (18 months-2 years, sounds about right)

Nice models but....

Even you must realise that, even taken in isolation, 2100 members of a forum does not make a massive fanbase. Most of these members are probably not even very active and those that are, or not, probably split their time across other chaos dwarf fan sites so the numbers still appear to remain very low.

Its great that people care so much and are keeping their favourite army alive in their own small circles but lets not kid ourselves that even 10,00 signatorys on a petition will sway a company like GW to start producing a new, main, race.
