Come on guys, it's only a piss-poor, puerile joke, nothing to get worked up about.

If you really want to be annoyed, read the petition to chemically castrate allow American males aged 12 to 30.

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

The Man Show did something like this where they set up a booth and had women signing their petition to end Women's Suffrage a few years back. Pretty funny to see the reactions on the people's faces when someone told them what they had just signed.

In all seriousness, try asking your significant other if she knows what the term 'women's suffrage' means. The answer may depress you. I'm willing to bet that only one or two women out of the many that I know would know the answer.

Odds are that the same percentage of men would be likely to know the answer.

Actually, I find that men seem to be more 'up' on things like history/current events than women. I think a lot of it is down to the differences between specifically male-oriented magazines/tv programs and specifically female-oriented ones. The amount of banal rubbish they consume is mind-blowing. In the average men's publication you can read about narco-terrorism, war, gangland killings, world sport, fashion, grooming... The average woman's mag consists of minor celebrities wearing clothes.

It's worth pointing out that a large proportion of the women I know are graduates (Mrs. Albatross has a degree in psychology! ), yet their viewing and reading habits are shockingly anti-intellectual in outlook.

They actually are good points when you aren't trying to make a straw man out of them. There's a huge difference, in general, between the interests of men and women. Not exactly ground-breaking stuff here. Anyone who knows anything about marketing would tell you that.

Marketing that targets the sexes is based on gender norms established through statistical analysis and theoretical postulation. This is then tested through an analysis of purchasing trends, though this is far from an exact science. In no way does market research work to describe the constitution of sexual necessity vis a vis gender. You want neuroscience, philosophy of mind, gender theory, and sexual analysis for that.
