And I'm all outta gum.

I've always wanted to include Sly Marbo in my Guard, but didn't like the model all that much. I figured it would be inspired to make a model based on a movie or game character for him, so I chose one of my favorites:

DUKE MOTHERFETHING NUKEM

I even went so far to attempt his pose and equipment from the box art. This is my first time trying anything significant with green stuff, so tell me how I did!

And here's a WIP for those interested:

I took a Catachan head with sunglasses and shaved off the bandanna, resculpting his ear. His body and legs are vanilla Catachan parts, but I shaved down the boots to look less obvious, and cut his dog tags and the the aquila on his belt buckle. His arms are from the Catachan command and heavy weapons teams, and the guns are a converted Catachan lasgun and a 2nd ed autopistol. After all, Duke Nukem 3D came out in the midst of 2nd edition 40k, so it's only appropriate!

And for those wondering about the other stuff on that oath list:

And here's what I want to get painted by the end of August:

Tell me what you think!

Duke Nukem... nice.

NO! that should definitely NOT be a rule!!!! Thats just gross! I don't want some slaanesh warrior charging me, Screaming a BloodLust filled roar, with his Jolly Roger Flopping around!!!! Thats just gross! I mean.....if it was a female warrior and she wasn't that bad looking, I think I could capture a few prisoners. My 'Interrogation' skill will be most useful then - Commissar NIkev

Nicely done, that man.

Right arm looks a little awkward, but it makes up for it in cool points.

I figure his pair of guns are badass enough to convey the poisoned AP2 ripper pistol, and for close combat he's always got The Mighty Boot:

As for the demo charge, you can chalk it up to the pipe bombs from the games, or his "explosive" personality.

His shooty arm is facing down which looks wrong unless you had a "about to die" alien in the pic. Other then that I think its 'rocken' !!!!

I bolded how long it will take that game to come out. Seriously, if it comes out, Ill record myself eatting my hat, and Id have to go buy one first.

The only problem with the mini, is how he is holding the rifle or whatever it is. The gun looks cocked wrong, but other then that, you did a great job. That looks like the Duke for sure

Nice job! But IMO the hair is a bit too bright, and while I realize you want the model to look like Mr. Nukem, perhaps you should make him a bit more "marbo-ish" by making his Ripper pistol and poisoned blade (or whatever it is..)

Whatever you do with the model, it's still very well done!

He's got a pair of pistols for the ripper, and I think the poisoned blade is conveyed excellently by the Mighty Boot.

Thanks for the props everybody!

"Nobody Steals our chicks... and Lives"

So many great lines in that game, and had solid, innovative gameplay too... jetpacks, pipebombs, trigger bombs, freeze ray that bounced off mirrors, the shrinker, the list goes on.

Nah, I don't think I have a place for him in my army Of course I was referring to the line's usage in Duke Nukem 3D, which pilfered a lot of action movies including Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Die Hard, and of course, They Live!
