Basic plan for the army? Kroot mercenaries. Krootzilla style!
How? Using the Tau empire codex and Imperial armour 4
Colour scheme with be a mix of muted greens and vibrant oranges....

Started some work on what will become a Stealthsuit unit, or as they are known in the 'Kindred of Solace', the 'Yautja Kindred'

Very cool idea, and very cool progress so far, I can't wait to see more. On a sidenote, Kroot really need their own codex, along with being entered into the Tau.

Nice conversions. Those first kroot look so tough, and so relaxed from behind. I think it's the dreads. Where did the scopes come from, if you don't mind?

The scopes are from the Imperial guard binoculars, from the heavy weapon and tank crew sprues!

There are some scenes that may inspire you there...pulling out a human spine...complete with head...

Just thought of the similarity with the Kroot + GS dreads you've done....

Yea I had seen the new Predators film,
Although you cant properly see it in ma pics, the unhelmeted Predator/Kroot actually is standing over a headless body with the spine/head in its grasp, brutal eh

Done some work on the Hunter Kindred (Drone Sniper Team)[Minus the Shapers/Drone controllers]
The base where a test but I rather like the way they have come out but will do ome more experimentation on the Yautja Kindred (Stealth Team) most likely, At the moment the main thing I want to change is too add in some reed like plants and too add in a more jungle/swamp like theme.
Also changed the colour scheme of the force, making the Quills a brighter orange. Added in some Warpaint too! Also finally dullled down the metals. More details etc to go yet....

No real update,
But I want to pose some questions too the community!

In keeping with what will eventually become the Krootzilla theme I want to proxy some Battlesuits (For the commander) and some broadsides.
Would the linked models be suitable, with some conversion of course and appropiate mounts etc!

I wonder if you would have to give them mounts. I guess some of them would, but a Krootzilla wouldn't need a rider, would it? THe dragon could be the commander, just give it a Kroot head.

Awesome. Im assuming you meant to have em look like Predators?

I had thought of it,
But I kinda like the idea of the Kroot making use of big beasties as riders etc.
For the suit I figured the wings would be able to represent the Jump packs thingies!
Where as with the carnosaurs they would be big enough to mount the weapons onto and be able to look tough enough for the stats (although in both cases I imagine the stats would be underimpressive for the models)

I love kroot armies , so far pretty good .

So Yea.... I changed my army list again. I shant bore you with it this time!

They are going to count as Broadsides. Gonna get another one soon. After than I need to get the weapons for them. Plan after that is to hit up a couple of Battlewheels. Inspired by Faultie.

Also working on a Stalker Kindred atm!






Plenty of bitz to add and gsing is still needed. Then somehow gotta sort out the weapons....

Very nice, did you know that at one point GW brought out a codex online for this army but i dont know if it exists anymore, it was old, although i might have a copy somewhere if you are interested

Yea, I had looked at it for using it but sadly as a 3rd ed list its rather lacking and uncompetitive, even back then admittedly. I know by taking a kroot heavy list now its not uberly great but its better than nowt.
